Rough Idle Question
cribfiller - Saturday, 9 July, 2011, at 3:59:40 pm
I was out this morning for a road trip, approximately 80 miles out, reving the engine to 6K+ on the back roads of Indiana, blowing the carbon out I guess. Anyway, pulled into a BP station, only one in the small town and filled up with 93 octane. Car started and ran rough for 20 sec and died, did the same thing on the second start, waited approx 30 sec for the third try and it fired right up and purred. No problems the rest of the day. Any thoughts?

My 02 986 2.7 base model.

Maybe the fuel pump?

Thanks I will look at that today.
'bad' gas. Chances are that 93 octane has been in the tank at the station since well, a long time.

Sincerely,

MarcW.
It could be that the gas tank wasn't properly pressurized messing with the flow of fuel. The excess air got out of the system, and you were, literally, good to go from there.
Going with the last two responses, cleaned the TB yesterday, it was not dirty as I cleaned it previously in June 2010. Thanks for the responses to this. .
Could be evap canister..

If it happens again next time you fill up, you will know for sure.
