Per Car and Driver, new base 911 (991) will have 3.4l base engine of the Boxster S

But it will pump out 350 hp. The S will stay with the 3.8 and be tweaked to an even 400hp. The rear center console will be similar to the Panamera--sloping upwards with a higher mounted shifter. The wheel base is 4 inches longer to accomodate hybrid technology in 2016. The PCM screen is also larger, think from the Pepper. The spoiler is different. The leveurs are not part of it, but do adjust to aid in cooling. The spoiler is narrower and looks "longer", and almost wing-like when deployed, but no verticle end caps like a traditional wing. It looks like it still flips up, so not a true wing where it has legs. One of the five instrument clusters will now be all digital (i couldn't read what will be displayed, but there seemed to be lots of text, so maybe more info from the OBC displayed). We know about the 7-speed manual, but they didn't say the shift pattern. The interior shot was a PDK.

C&D went along for testing down in S. Africa and basically indicated how great the handling and steering is on the new car, even though PAG is still dialing in the suspension.
