They're called "art cars." They're unusual, but not particularly rare in Europe and Japan. I remember a BMW CS-6 decorated by Alexander Caulder that was toured around dealerships here for awhile, and it was just one of a series.

Racecar spelled backwards is Racecar

"Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting" ... Steve McQueen as Michael Delaney in "LeMans"

"If you wait, all that happens is that you get older"... Mario Andretti

"Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose" ... Ayrton Senna

the whole Porsche world knows Janis's car, the whole world knows Andy's.

On the whole though I liked Janis while barely tolerating Andy..

I still like Janis' version best - but I think I was in love with her! Don't tell Dianne!
I think her take on Erma's song

just as the Stones couldn't touch Soloman

Ummm, I've been in this world now for almost 50 years and have never known of Andy's car until this post, but with Janis Joplin's ride being housed in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, I think more of the world knows of hers, many of whom probably don't even know that is is a Porsche.

True but remember we were talking about "Art" cars and there lies the question. Can a roadie on acid create art? winking smiley

while it sits in a music museum the German art car collection tours actual art museums.

As Harry Truman so succinctly put it, "If that's art, I'm a hottentot."
