flexing creak sound
boxsterd - Thursday, 21 July, 2011, at 2:02:48 am
Hi,
I have a new problem. I noticed my '01 Boxster make a "flexing/creaking" sound when I go over bumps or sharp turns that are downhill or uphill. And when I'm parked, if I push down with my weight, on the rear left or right wheel well, I can hear a "creak" sound. Very annoying. Any ideas what it might be and how much it might cost to fix? Enging mount? TIA.
Most likely one of two things

Lower control arm (a few hundred $ to fix)
Sway bar bushing (cheap to fix, depending on the exact cause)

Any harm in putting off this repair for 6-12 months?
No harm...

... other than the creaking may get worse.
Happy Boxstering,
