Heat affects my fuel guage and oil guage
IFlyLow - Tuesday, 2 August, 2011, at 12:20:57 pm
Anyone had this experience? Twice in the last month, I have started my car after sitting in the sun all day; the oil guage flashes and won't give me a reading, and the fuel guage reads empty. After driving 5 miles or so, they read normally.
and the V1 so hot I couldn't touch it, along with the steering wheel, but I've never had anything in the car show any effects from being hot due to the car being parked in the sun.

Sincerely,

MarcW.

FWIW have never experienced any heat related effects in SilverBox here in hot smiley Vegas with the exception of tire pressures sitting in the sun vs shade.cool smiley
My guess would be ...

... that the issue is in your instrument cluster.
Probably a cold solder or a bad connection.
I've encountered several cold soldered points in the past.
The heat can make them act up.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro
