The standard values are available on every car made since 1996 MY So that means that any OBD-2 reader (including the $5 bluetooth ones) can read and clear engine codes and a bunch of real-time values (O2 sensor readings, fuel trims, intake air temp, etc.) Here is an idea of what's available: None of the Porsche-specific codes or values are available with a generic reader. You need one of seveby Boxsterra - Main Forum
All you need to read car info is an OBD-2 reader. I use Bluetooth but you can just as easily use a USB OBD-2 cable that plugs into almost any Android head unit. Running the microphone requires you to: - unbolt the cluster (easy 1/10) - pull the microphone grill off, insert microphone (usually wrapped in foam or similar to prevent movement), put grill back on (easy 1/10) - route the microphone wiby Boxsterra - Main Forum
It's possible that when your plugs were replaced the coils on those 3 cylinders were not clipped in correctly and they have worked their way partly off over time.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
If you upgrade to any system running Android it can interface with your car. Maestro ready is nice to have but not required. I did a series of experiments with microphone placement in every conceivable location and (surprise surprise) the stock location had the best sound, even at speed with the top down. The stock location is the little grill on the left side of the cluster. The cover pulls ofby Boxsterra - Main Forum
Right side: $119 Left side: $102 Source: Maybe not the low price you were hoping for but not that bad. Also Uro sells a kit containing both of them for $215.by Boxsterra - Main Forum

it might be a good idea to replace them regardless. They're not that expensive and it should increase the efficiency of the engine. If the car has post-cat codes then I would move the best ones you have (they should be all interchangeable) to post-cat positions and put fresh ones in the pre-cat positions. But that's just me. It's all about priorities.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
This way is not quicker or easier and it doesn't address the other vent flap (on the right from this video's perspective) that has the same problem. I think the easier way is by removing the center dash console and cutting the vent. It is totally reversible and it gives you access to both vent flaps.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
Given everything you have said I'm guessing that the convertible top transmission has a cracked or broken gear and that is causing the open/close microswitches to not function correctly. You can test this theory by checking the open/close signals on the relay (pins A3/B9). I would venture a guess that the "closed" microswitch is activated even when the top is open. There is a very good video thaby Boxsterra - Main Forum
I would start by checking the convertible top fuses. Then I would check to see if the relay is switching. If not, I would check to make sure the relay has power coming in. If so then I would test each of the inputs to the relay to see which signal it's not getting. If all the inputs to the relay are correct and it's not switching then the problem is the relay. This is not the usual cause but it'by Boxsterra - Main Forum
If I cannot reproduce the problem from outside the car (e.g. by pushing down on each corner) then I will find a bumpy road that easily reproduces the problem, then one by one spray a suspect with a silicone lubricant and reproduce the problem and listen if the sound has changed (or in some cases, gone away). You repeat that process with each of the suspension joints until you find it. Also, if yby Boxsterra - Main Forum
I replaced my original dual row IMS bearing at 160k miles. It had a little bit of play in it. The replacement part is cheap and installation is not difficult. While in there you might as well since it is a normal wear item.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
When you are pressure bleeding the system, the reservoir is level or close to it and there are no g-forces acting on the fluid. This gives you more margin for a safe low fluid level than when you're driving. If you fill the reservoir to the top (above the max line) and bleed down to at or near the min line you should be able to bleed the whole system with only one top off.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
This sounds exactly like something I have said many times, including in this thread. The other relevant piece of the puzzle is that if you occasionally wiggle your water pump pully you can detect when the bearing has started to wear and replace it long before any of these problems happen. Wear is gradual so there is plenty of time to catch it.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
When your clutch starts to reach its wear limit it will gradually start slipping. There is no realistic concern that it will suddenly fail on you. The same holds true for the fluid. As it becomes more contaminated, the clutch pedal will gradually lose its ability to release the clutch. I recommend you bleed the clutch when changing the brake fluid. It's a simple job. See you in NC?by Boxsterra - Main Forum
It's all electrical. It starts with the climate control module and wires go out to each of the actuators. I would start by checking the relevant fuses and if those are good, do an electrical diagnosis.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
The reason connecting ground to the relay triggers the pump is that that is how the DME activates the relay. It's good that you have already eliminated one of the most expensive problems (bad pump). I recommend the following continued diagnostics: - Unplug the X5/9 (white) connector in the rear trunk and inspect the pins for corrosion or other visible damage - Test continuity between SAI relay pby Boxsterra - Main Forum
A while back I made a series of recordings putting an external mic in various locations. It was a while ago and I never ended up installing it but IIRC one of the best places for a mic is the factory location (just to the left of the cluster). I was testing with a small standalone microphone (similar to a lapel clip-on) so it would actually fit inside the stock microphone tube. Perhaps you couldby Boxsterra - Main Forum
If you happen to purchase your tires from Tire Rack, please use the sponsor link at the top of the forum list. It helps pay for server costs for this forum and doesn't add any cost to you. Thanks!by Boxsterra - Main Forum
It sounds like the unit you got might be an Aux out adapter but I'd have to see it. Do you have a link or picture? Also, when you say RCA I think you're referring to 3.5mm.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
Sometimes I take a rubber mallet and bang on the exhaust system to check for rattles and clanks. It doesn't always find it but it's easy to try.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
If the driver door lock doesn't open with the key in the lock then there must be a mechanical problem in the door. I see that OP updated with this diagnosis. This can sometimes be fixed without parts if the pin that connects the lock to the latch has fallen out. But you do need access to the inside of the door to do that.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
In your picture, it's not the heater that is pegged. It looks like it's the voltage (in mV) on the O₂ sensor(s) output. If you have a problem that reproducible, diagnosis shouldn't be difficult. I would start by checking the sensor wiring, which has multiple parts (DME to X5/9 connector in trunk, X5/9 connector to sensor). Also, the connector itself can get wonky so I would make sure none of tby Boxsterra - Main Forum
