So sorry to hear this, mike. Condolences to the family and to you and all are in our prayers.by Al in Melbourne Beach - Main Forum
I recently put a 2003 top on my 2003 Boxster. I found the following very helpful. I can't get the insert URL to work right so try to copy this link and paste it. sites.google.com/site/mikefocke2/installinga%2703-%2704glasstopandframeona%2797 IE will ask you which site you want and list several. Pick the one with http in front of it, or just put http: in front of the above. To find a top,by Al in Melbourne Beach - Main Forum

My seals were visually undamaged and intact, but still no grease. My opinion is they were designed to keep grease in, in a different environment, not to keep hot oil out. Over time, hot oil gets in, liquifies the grease, and the mixture leaks out. My belief is that the LN unsealed bearing will let in more oil than the sealed factory bearing and has better balls (npi). 2002 3-bow top. Canvas looks great, but local shop said he couldn't sew in a new window. Window is cracked along most of the drivers side vertical edge and it is missing the locator pin for the windshield socket on the passenger side (stole it to put on my 2003 top). After what i saw when i opened up my ims bearing, i don't know how it lasted as long as it did. Virtually no lube inside the seals. I can't say the ln is better, but what i saw can't be good.by Al in Melbourne Beach - Main Forum
Another note. I counted something like 20 dealers in LN's authorized installer list.by Al in Melbourne Beach - Main Forum
The car had 58k on it. I asked the sm and he referred me to the tech. He was willing but held the its not a problem, don' fix it party line. I just said i wanted to do it and he was fine with it. I did have to sign a warranty waiver indicating that any problems during installation or in the future were not covered by dealer's parts/labor warranty. and Tilghman's Used Auto Parts of Jobstown, NJ, I now have a 2003 top on my 2002 Boxster. Maurice's procedure made the removal and installation a snap. Mine was particularly difficult to adjust and it is still hard to close, but at least I can stay in the car for the whole process. Thanks Maurice!!!!! It is a good one! Took my car in to the dealer for a headlight adjustment and asked that they look it over to see if anything needed fixing before my extended warranty ran out. They found an oil leak which turned out to be the IMS shaft seal. I decided to do the LN Engineering retrofit while we had it apart. The dealer said that as long as it was opened up they recommended replacing the RMS aby Al in Melbourne Beach - Main Forum
