Took my month old Cayman S to the PCA DE @ Sebring this past weekend. This car is amazing on the track. I was running stock brake pads and tires. Compared to my 997, the Cayman seems to me that it is a lot faster in the curves. I guess because I have sport suspension and PTV. The car felt flatter and more in control. I even was doing some trail braking in some turns. I was using sport mode and nby Harvey in FL - Main Forum

Quotefrogster QuoteHarvey in FL WOW, what a funny feeling to drive a sports car without a clutch. what are you talking about? it has TWO CLUTCHES!!! "without a clutch pedal." I will be using my left foot for braking. So, I still will need two feet for driving. Glad to see you back to the forum.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario I'll be interested to hear how you feel about that Sports Suspension, along with the Sports Plus seats and having the engine in the ultimate location for handling, once you have a chance to put it though its paces. And don't get fooled by the GT Silver paint. Although it might seem like it, it won't actually make the car faster. It just makes it look better. I'm planniby Harvey in FL - Main Forum
Thanks for all the kind words. I completed my 2K miles by doing round trip to TX. Got to visit with kids for a few days. Had motor oil and brake fluid (SRF) changed yesterday. Now I'm ready for Sebring.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum
I know the lines at Sebring. I just need to be faster thru the curves to carry more speed out of the curves. Pedro will build my confidence. Take a look at my Sebring lines from last May. When are you coming to Sebring? I may get to VIR next fall.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum
QuoteRev Dennis Good luck and have fun with your new toy. Very nice. Thanks Dennis. Next time you come south, please call me. I can let you drive a real sports car.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum

except for you. I'm sure they did not want to get on your bad side or hurt your feelings..Right? Yes, you can drive my car as long as you don't drive it like it was stolen or I should say the way you gave me a demo ride in your car.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario Beautiful car. You have excellent taste in colour. ... transmission, I won't comment on. Looks like you ordered white instruments. I was considering that just to make the tach easier to read. Once you have a chance to take it through some real corners, I'd love to hear your impression of that sports suspension. Enjoy!!!! I have been without a Porsche a few months and was very glad the new CS was delivered today. The CS drives and sounds great. This is my very first car with a automatic tranny. Since retiring & moving to FL, I have been doing track time at Sebring. So, my go faster options are: PDK , PTV, Sport Suspension, Sport Steering Wheel, 19" Boxster Wheels, Sport Chrono Package and Sport Seats Plus. Thby Harvey in FL - Main Forum

Quotegrant people like the sport chrono for the track. It simply re-maps the throttle response, and adds a timer, right? The sport chrono package definition... I was considering the GTS; but, I was not interested in some options which I could not opt out of: 20" wheels, leather interior, and PASM. My actual car came in about $8K less than the GTS. I'm very sure Pedro will find the extra 15hp for a lot less than the price of the GTS. That's a lot of track tires and brakes for the difference. But then again, it's the driver that will make it go fasterby Harvey in FL - Main Forum

QuoteBobtesa Harvey, If you are who I think you are - you were in the DC area and moved to Florida, right? Didn't you go from a Boxster to the dark side? Now back to mid-engine (Cayman S). QuoteGuenter in Ontario As you said, Roger, there's no other car that I've driven that makes me feel at one with the car the way the Boxster does. I never feel like I'm having to muscle the car through the twisty roads. We just dance through the curves together. The Zen of driving. Hey Guenter, sounds like you have never driven a Cayman S. so Porsche is offering a six month lease on a Boxster of Cayman till their Macan arrives. So someone needs a small SUV and will willing to drive a two seated sports car in the mean time. Please explain this to me. A sarcastic answer is acceptable.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum

there were about 15 of us going to BRBS. I'm just not going to explain why at this time; but the park police blocked the parkway and had us all turn into a viewing area. The officer only gave one of us a ticket and a long lecture to the rest of us.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum
