Is it in the rear trunk by chance? Scanning posts here and on other boards, an intermittent P1117 was triggered by a loose wire at the computer. On the day I threw the code, I had several full brief cases in the trunk. Plausibly, the load could have shifted and bumped the connection - thus throwing the code??? I appreciate I am speculating as I go, but it could explain why the code is intermitby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
So It looks like I will need to replace my O'2 sensors. 2000 Base 2.7. I first got a code 5 years ago. cleared and watched. 3 years later - same. This year, about 2 months ago, I did the same thing again. But the code came on last week. So either the sensor is getting worse, and more quickly, or there is some other intermittent issue. Either way, it is the same code 4 times in a row. So iby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
I have to say, I do not get the talon analogy. In my case the issue resolved for the moment. I had an assistant. Together we pushed the headliner font edge all the way - we pretty well jammed it home - in a consistent manner on the hottest day you can imagine in CT. Probably 105 deg F. (probably like a Tues in January in Arizona). Since then the headliner has been fine. I am not expecting aby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
I sourced the wheel from LA Dismantlers. DC Automotive also had one, but in silver. Here is a link to another source. (I did not pay that much BTW) With respect to the noises. With the top down, I must assume the rubber seals and the plexi window must have been the source of squeaky problems. All I can say with assurance is the replacement top is much better. With the top up, I thinkby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
after spending a month with the replacement top, I have to say what a difference it made. Obviously, not having to think about putting it up or down, no chop etc. But less obviously, the car is much more quiet. It is noticeable with the top down. There are many fewer squeaks ans squawks as i drive over imperfect conditions. It is Very noticeable with the top up. Some of that has to do witby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
While I could not explain the details - as I expect you could - everything you said makes perfect sense. I can only imagine the liability if one of those bags went off unexpectedly.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
As I said off-line: It was a mistake. But "blunder" might be an overstatement. Clearly, the person running the video board mis-heard the auctioneer. But the auctioneer was asking for $500K increments and the bidders seemed to understand what he was saying as they were still bidding. (they clearly would not be at $50M or $60M). There is almost no way the bids would ever have gone up in $10M incby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
Either way, I have never heard of that happening before absent recent work on the bumper area or dash. Even then, I suspect it is stunningly rare.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
If you do not drive them - they are no longer cars. I think Seinfeld owned that car. The difference here is they are letting an auto-journalist drive it. Those guys are notorious for breaking, crashing, and messing stuff up. And it appears they let more than one guy drive it. That is remarkable. A hundred years ago, when I bought my Boxster, i made a point to park at the end of the lot. Iby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
It is stunning that it drives at all - even more stunning they let an auto journalist drive it. But as "patient zero" it has a huge lace in history. I cannot believe it survived. Truly remarkable.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
Some years back, i represented a valet company. They serviced a particular restaurant in a CT gold coast town. After 10, the Valet would go off duty. He delivered the keys to the Hostess before leaving. Well about 11:30, a customer who had (allegedly) imbibed too much (much too much) went to the hostess stand, and without permission, took the keys to "her" SUV and proceeded to drive home 20 miby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum

The vertical support holding the wiring to the headlight base had broken. I now have to manually attach the wires after mounting the headlight assembly. To do that, i need to remove the wheel liner. It is a bit of a nuisance, but only required once in forever.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum

I can see why it is so cheap... Can you?by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
This AM in the parking garage at work a WRX pulled in with a horrible pulsating grinding sound. As he hit the brakes, the grinding sound became constant and more severe. It seemed apparent to me the brakes were metal on metal - and that they had been for some time. Although I most always want to MYOB in a public parking garage, since i was walking to the elevator with the guy. I said(I thinkby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
QuoteParalizer With prior generations of Corvette’s I would agree. But, and with GM’a history it’s definitely a big but, this new midengine Vette could have an impact. It has a whole new suspension configuration and significant upgrades to interior fit, finish, and function. It will be interesting to see initial reviews but I think it absolutely has the potential to impact Boxster/Cayman sby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
I know few people who cross shop the two cars. If you want a Vette, it is like a battle axe. A Boxster is more like a cavalry saber. I doubt that will change.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
and potentially very messy. Have you done it successfully? Assuming the answer is yes, what glue did you use? Basic Gorilla Glue wont cut it. I think I have some yellow epoxy designed for trim pieces. But I would think that would be more for the top proper not the headlining. Maurice suggested velcro tape. I have not had a chance to pull it apart to see the top edge, but I suspect if the heby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum

I enjoyed them pretty uniformly - they were decent in light snow with my Saab's. But that could have been the Saab not the tire. They wore OK. They were expensive though. Last time, I got them through Costco of all places. The Contis I got at Town Fair, a regional tire place. Tire Rack seems to offer them in 17"by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum

As noted in another thread, I installed a pre-owned OEM top into my car. The headliner is in good shape, but it has a tendency to detach from the leading edge. It begins in the middle, and detaches laterally. I can pressure fit it back in place readily enough, but that only lasts until the nest roof engagement. It appears the headliner is held in place by a friction fit between the top itselfby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
Thanks to Maurice's excellent instructions, the convertible top went in more or less straightforwardly. (Well, except for my own mistake. When re-installing the top be sure that the speaker wires to not get caught under the mounting, that is bad - ask me how I know.) If your top has never been off, you might consider removing the adjusting bolt on the actuating rod rather than the plastic balby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
For many years I used Michelin Pilot - I enjoyed them 4 seasons albeit with almost no snow. They were good, but very expensive. The tread wear was as I expected. I used them on my Saab's too with similar results. Last year I went for Continental DWS. if anything, i like those better all around. Obviously, i cannot speak to treadwear yet, but the performance is really good so far. I know thby JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum

But that car strikes me as senseless. In order to put the drive train up front, the entire car needs to be gutted. There would be no structure left. Basically, you would be better off hanging panels on a tube frame. At that point you have neither a Porsche nor a muscle car, just a mess. Then again, they got their picture out in the interweb googlebox.by JM-Stamford,CT - Main Forum
