Our Las Vegas Porsche club organized a small group of enthusiasts for a drive out to Death Valley today. The weather was beautiful, starting in the 60s and rising to the upper 80s low 90s when we got to Death Valley. Several Mini Coopers, Ferraris, a Corvette, and some other cars joined in. Interesting thought Marc, but wouldn't there be a trade off between not having as many fuel stops and carrying (at least for a while) the additional fuel weight of about 55 pounds with the larger tank? QuoteMarcW Oh, if I were in a position to buy another Porsche I would seriously consider the GTS. It can be optioned, or comes optioned with all the necessities I believe well necessary for a goby jwdbox - Main Forum
Congrats on your daughter and welcome back. I would suggest a simpler solution before you start disconnecting the battery, etc., though you might have already done this. Put the key in the door and unlock manually. Do not open the door. Now press the lock button on your remote. If it synchs, the door will unlock. Now you can open the door and all should be OK. Like art, each person has their own perspective. When I purchased SilverBox, a 2008, I purchased an extended warranty from my dealer at the same time (the contract is with Easy Care). In fact it was the first time in 30 or so car purchases that I did get an extended warranty and it was not because I had concern over Porsche's quality, but rather for piece of (my older ) mind at time of purchasby jwdbox - Main Forum

You've got that right Guenter! I could hardly stand still long enough for the picture because all I wanted to do was get in and fire her up for the drive homeby jwdbox - Main Forum
After a significant amount of soul searching and research I decided to get a car similar to one of my early car loves, a 356 back in the early 1960's. I looked initially at purchasing an original but could not find just what I wanted; then I went the replica route and by the time I finished building one to my specs it was costing more than a new genuine Porsche. So I went to our local dealer anby jwdbox - Main Forum

I saw the same article on the NYTimes this morning and thought it was a bit of Déjà vu. It seems to me that every couple of months since the initial failure of Porsche to take over VW a similar delay has occurred in the courts. IMHO based on discussions with our European automotive clients it seems that everyone expects the VW absorption of Porsche to occur, and to some degree that it is basiby jwdbox - Main Forum
I concur with the importance of being extremely thorough in checking the car over before taking it and having ANY marks, dents, etc. noted. I had a similar occurrence with Hertz, also in Germany, but my client was able to argue them out of the additional charge. Other EU countries seem a bit less intense in their desire to find reasons for additional charges, but I rather be uber careful on theby jwdbox - Main Forum

Outstanding pictures. Thanks for posting! On closer examination I was really surprised to see that not only is the RS Spyder fitted with the Bose subwoofer horn but it's chromed similar to SilverBox'sby jwdbox - Main Forum

You did not indicate but it sounds like you have an automatic- with a stick you can always get it into neutral without the key in the ignition. The easiest way would be to use the maintainer/charger through the cigarette lighter, to at least get enough power to get it out of the garage. Also some maintainers (like the CTEK 3300 I use- they make the identical one for Porsche sans the logo) haveby jwdbox - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario It actually won't bother me. I get the front trunk and Mrs. G gets the rear trunk. There'll just be less room for shoes and purses. Gee, somehow I just can't see that being the outcome. Perhaps Mrs. G would find a better place for the spareby jwdbox - Main Forum
I seem to recall a while back that someone had come up with an electronic workaround. Maybe someone will recall the posting. That would be simpler than the cut/weld rework.by jwdbox - Main Forum
Could you provide some additional description of the clicking noise? I have the PSE on SilverBox (a 2008) that I thoroughly enjoy. However I normally push the PSE on as soon as I start the engine and leave it that way. Did you hear the clicking noise when the PSE was on or off? Thanks.by jwdbox - Main Forum
Of course the fact that it takes up more than half of the rear trunk will tend to cut down on the length of the 'road trip' you can take. . .by jwdbox - Main Forum

There are alternators that can work in either direction. As a matter of fact one of our automotive parts supplier clients makes a micro-hybrid reversible starter-alternator. It is used on some of the OEM cars with start-stop technology (automatically shuts off the engine at the traffic light and then instantly restarts as soon as the accelerator pedal is stepped on).by jwdbox - Main Forum
