BOP in about 90% in my view. There were basically three levels of performance at Daytona: 1. Ford Gt, 2 Corvette, and 3. everyone else. I always thought that the GT class was supposed to be for cars that were racing versions of a street driveable GT car. Not so anymore. The FordGTs are limited to 250 units and although I covet one, they are not what a would choose for a GT car. There is morby Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
At least Friday was good with a win for the Cayman GT4mr. Does anyone know what "MR" means?by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
Today I had the pleasure of watching a Cayman GT4 outrun McLarens, AMG Mercs, Astons, BMWs, Mustangs, etc in the BMW Endurance Challenge. Not a fluke either - the Cayman was clearly the fastest car on the track. Another Cayman challenged for the lead much of the day until a couple of bad pit stops knocked it back. Tomorrow the big dogs run in the Rolex 24!by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
QuotePedro (Weston, FL) ... there are some (few, but some nonetheless) that have purchased their "people mover SUV" based on its specs and performance (Turbo, GTS, etc). Most of these already have another Porsche and they want the same "feel" and enjoyment of driving when toting their families with them. Happy Pordsche'ing, Pedro As the owner of a 981S and a Macan turbo, I concur completely!by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum

The only 918 owner I met also had a GT1 and a Turbo S. I don't know what else he might have owned.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum

QuoteMarcW Or if you want something newer a 2008 base. Last of the 987 models. (Back in spring of 2009 I bought a new 2008 Cayman S because I felt this was the pinnacle of the 986/987 line.) Actually, the last 987 was 2012. 2008 was the last of the 987.1 - the last Boxster with an IMS.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
I remember seeing that car at the Road Atlanta Petit Lemans a couple of years ago. I assume it is the same car - there can't be two like that.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum

Here is what I found: 987 Length Cayman: 2009–2012: 4,376 mm (172 in) Width Cayman: 1,801 mm (70.9 in) Height Cayman: 1,305 mm (51.4 in) 981 Length Cayman:4,374 mm (172 in) Width Cayman:1,801 mm (70.9 in) Height Cayman:1,293 mm (51 in)by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
Quotedennisafrompa Now here is my old guy kvetch, why do these cars keep getting so BIG and FAT! My 987 Cayman seems so trim next to the the 981 and 718s and tiny compared to new 911s. I hear that a lot and agree that the 981 looks bigger than a 987 -BUT in reality the 981 Cayman has exactly the same dimensions as the 987 (length and width), although the 981 is slightly lower. Also, the 981by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum

Yesterday I went to the dealer for a routine maintenance. While waiting, I felt the urge to "do my business". Walked into the new restroom (dealership has recently been remodeled and expanded) and sat down. Pure comfort - a nice warm, heated seat. Then I looked to left and there was a little lcd touch panel with these choices: hard flush soft flush front stream - strong, soft or oscillating reby Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
I replaced the original P Zero tires with Michelin PSS. I liked thehandling but, after around 5,000 miles, they seem tobe geting excessively noisy. I had not noticed this on the last set I had on the 987.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
QuoteMarika58 Hello everyone, I am a relative new Boxster owner and live in the Atlanta, GA. area. I would like to meet and ride with like minded people from around Atlanta on an informal basis. Anyone interested please let me know. .... Take care, Marika I still have a house in Atlanta and spend some time there, although I try to spend as much time as possible in NC (Cashiers). As usual, the "official" specs for the Boxster S for 0 to 60 were pretty conservative. Car & Driver clocked the 981S at 4.2. I suspect real life numbers are somewhere in between.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum

Just returned from Daytona. It was a great show with a lot of great racing. Unfortunately, in the main event, Porsche only managed a thrid in GTLM and a second in GTD. In GTLM, the factory Porsches just could not match the pace of the Corvettes. Amazingly, the Corvette team allowed the two Corvettes to race against each other for the last few laps. The result was some great head to head comby Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
Not all that important, but maybe now they will report sales figures combined as "718 sales" rather than separately as Boxster and Cayman sales. They have never reported variants of the 911 (such as the Cab) separately. It always seemed to me that sales reports of the 981 appeared less significant by splitting them up.by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario QuoteLaz Couple months ago I thought I lost one, and went crazy looking for it. Finally found it in the cargo area of my CRX. Go figure. I can just imagine. One of these keys would probably cost more than my first car. Definitely more than my first car - a rusted out, brush-painted, 1946 Desoto coupe - less than $50 IIRC. Three a rod shortly after I got it. Sold it foby Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
Quotedennisafrompa Went to the local Porsche dealer today, because they are closed and no one bathers you. I parked my 987 '08 Cayman next to a new one and wow that new Cayman is huge. It's almost Panamera like. It may look bigger - but it really isn't. Here are the dimensions: Length 2006-2008: 4,372 mm (172.1 in) 2009–2012: 4,376 mm (172 in) 2013–present: 4,374 mm (172 in) Width 2006-pby Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario Congratulations, Mike. Got a plate for it yet? How about the HAULN8R? Right now I have just asked for a standard number tag. I plan to order a "vanity" tag for Dianne's car at renewal in April. HAULN8R may work. Anyone else have an idea for a good tag for Dianne's Turbo?by Lawdevil & CURVN8R - Main Forum
