Wow zero to sun in 9 seconds.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Thanks, after experiencing 2 IMS failures (an '02 2.7 and an '04 3.2) you can understand my uneasiness.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
I agree. Just trying to figure out how systemic this problem is and/or whether it is peculiar to the 987s.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
It seems there always has to be some faulty engineering in theses cars. 1. is the snapped cable issue mostly a 987.1 series issue, a Cayman only issue? I don't remember this during my 986 ownership. I also noted a few 997/996 complaints. It apparently happens in 987.2 series cars too. Is it a 6 speed vs 5 speed problem or no matter? 2. I seem to see most of these reports on planet9 and rennlisby dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Hey, thanks a lot. How's Jersey life? Miss the Upper West Side?by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
....might be a doable DIY. Is there a primer someplace that gives a step by step to remove the console??by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
.....offering a "personal and profound apology". They take full responsibility and are working on "remedies". They are committed to "do what must be done to begin to regain your trust". Well, we'll see.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Thanks for the encouraging word. I may have to buy some of them cables to insure they won't break. My spare should insure flat tire protection.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
QuoteGary in SoFL ..than a flat., it seems to be a pervasive issue, and another Porsche flawed design. They finally corrected it, but I believe they charge $300 just for the improved cable. Installing an upgraded OE cable at a dealership costs ~$1,500, but at least your shifts will be more precise, and you won't have to worry about having the shifter fail and strand you somewhere. Well I'm not a big litigation kind of guy especially class action types. Just hoping VW steps up and does the right thing. Right now I'm not even sure what that is. Just don't tell me that VW was acting on my behalf.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
......getting the performance by spewing crap in the air. They presented the car as a clean, alternative fuel, and good performing car. When/if they adjust the CPU to clean it up, I'm sure it won't be as quick or efficient. SO THEY WERE NOT LOOKING OUT ON MY BEHALF by cheating on certification. I like my Sport Wagon. It was misrepresented.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
What a mess. I'm a lucky owner. Besides, my wife wanted a Subaru but I convinced her we should get a Jetta Sportwagon TDI. I'm beginning to get "that look".by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
ours is a '12 and we love it. Extended warranty would be nice. We only have 20K miles on it so trade in will be a while. Oh yeah I just traded my '08 Bullitt that has one of those projectile airbags. Ford has no idea when they will get replacements.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Mer, it has lots of warts BUT the underside is dry, the oil filter is clean, the brakes are new, the wheels have no rash and the interior is excellent. There are however hundreds of chips especially on the hood and front bumper. It was a daily commuter in Jersey. The good news it was the same owner and Carfax has a complete service record, mostly at Princeton Porsche. There are scratches too butby dennisafrompa - Main Forum
....a Jetta Sportwagon with the Turbo diesel and PDK. Great car looks like I'm due fro possible reduced mileage.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Quotenobox I get my Dennis's mixed up. Is this engine-explosion (pardon my French) Dennis? Yes 2 IMS failures out of 3 Boxsters.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
It's about as base as a base Cayman can get. It is an honest car that was a daily driver since new. It is a ONE owner with a good service record and clean Carfax. However, it's not pristine has plenty of chips and a few scratches, although from 5 feet it looks super. This suites me just fine as I don't have to worry about that first scratch, bump or chip. It was driven in Winter and it has winterby dennisafrompa - Main Forum

...yes we were impressed with the impressionists. Never realized that many version of famous scenes were painted. Also that shadows and filtered sun was first portrayed by those guys.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
...small world. We were in Versailles Friday but unfortunately did not get to Le Mans circuit. Saturday we were at the Louvre and the Montmarte area. Flew home Sunday. The first several days were spent in London. Stayed in Kensington and travelled to Paris on the Eurostar.....what a great train ride, no rock, no roll and no click clack just smooth fast travel.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Alive and well, having fun with the "Bullitt".by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
I see where the guy driving was described as a "good driver" by friends. Well good drivers drive according to conditions, circumstances and know their limitations as well as those of the vehicle. I know it's early in the process but that good driver comment always gets me.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum

Quoteboxsterd Quotedennisafrompa Had a gaurds red top painted arctic silver then again to GT silver when I changed cars. It cost around $400. That was back in '00. and '04. How did it turn out? Did it look OEM? This is the hardtop that was red and then arctic silver and finally GT silver.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
