I always liked the way my 356 B Super sounded......but it wasn't turbocharged and it had carbs. It did pop sometimes. I'll take my 2.7 Cayman's sound over them both.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
He's narrated a best of show recently.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Oh there are few running old engines, you can tell by the smoke. Those are only used by families and if they are taxis they can only take Cubans for Pesos, not tourists. Those that are in good shape and sporting European and Asian diesels can transport tourist for CUC a special more valuable currency only used by visitors.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
....we took a quick trip to Cuba for the weekend. The tour company Road Scholar arranged 5 convertibles to rake us to dinner on the last night. These cars are family heirlooms. This one was driven by a 3rg generation guy, Ariel, and will be passed to his son. It was powered by a Mercedes Diesel with the complete drive train. These old '50s vehicles are in the majority.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Michelin Pilot Alpine N2. They came with the car.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
...goes well with Michelin winter tires.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Winter tires on my Cayman allowed me to cruise the neighborhood after our record breaker this weekend. Grip is quite good. Never had them on my Boxsters but the Cayman had them on when I bought it. I now have another set of 18" wheels with summer tires. I'm a believer now.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Same wish to you Pedro and all of you on the forum. It's nice to be back and so far my high mileage Cayman 2.7 has been true pleasure to drive. Since September 22nd when I bought it with 88K, I have added 4K.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
You're right that exhaust note is in German but I understood it perfectly.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
.....uh you mean 914, right? Had a great '73 two liter with Bilstein suspension. Loved the car, 911s be damned. I really don't get the whole 718 thing though but on the other hand, don't care either.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Marc, with a little more care and after reading start instructions in the manual, the problem seems to have disappeared. Thanks.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
There is really no difficulty turning the key once it only clicks once. I don't know if I'm understood here. The clicks sound like solenoid clicks as though something was moving. So I'm guessing one click is the lock being released and then the second is it being relocked. I only have one key and no valet. I'll try to relieve pressure on wheel, if any, and see what happens.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
On my 2008 Cayman 2.7, the first time I put the key in and almost every time I hear 2 distinct clicks and the key will not turn. Sometimes it repeats as many as 3 times. Then it only clicks once and is AOK. Of course very rarely it does it fine on the 1st attempt. Am I doing something wrong?by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Amen to that!by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Pedro, we have a now 20 year old granddaughter that had this early life surgery. Thinking of you, your family and your grandchild.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
I had this plate since 1989 when it was first attached to my 914 2.0. It went inactive when I left the P-world back in 2008. Surprised to find it available.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Nice, I'm still waiting to get my old plate POORSHE which went inactive for over 5 years. I couldn't reactivate but I checked availability and surprise, it was. PA cashed my check 5 weeks ago so.................by dennisafrompa - Main Forum

Went to the local Porsche dealer today, because they are closed and no one bathers you. I parked my 987 '08 Cayman next to a new one and wow that new Cayman is huge. It's almost Panamera like.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum

I understand the deal now. I see there are companies that will sell you the actual "key" part for $30 and cut it if you furnish them a photo or your key. Anybody have any experience with this?by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario Quotecarlos in Montreal If you just want a spare with no open door or trunk button I would try Home depot. They apparently can program their blank programmable keys. Its worth the try. I that Home Depot has a PIWIWS to program the car to recognize the key. The key isn't programmed, it's the car that's programmed so it recognizes the key. So if this is true then how willby dennisafrompa - Main Forum
So who can cut the key blank, anyone?by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
My 2008 Cayman only had one key when I recently purchased it, I figured I'd get another no sweat. Well local P dealer says $412 for key and another $120 to program to the car. Any alternatives or am I stuck with am over $500 bill for my no sweat key?by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
No doubt about the hulk of the 991. The 981s seem very bulked up too. My '08 Cayman seems small compared to the 2015s. But look at the Jags and Aston Martins and they have that bulk too. Honestly the 986s seemed big compared to the air cooled 911s but they now seem nice and small compared to the new cars.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
