I went for the hat trick, literally!by grc0456 - 10 years of PB
I like all the blues, Frogster. When I point out Lapis, Ocean, etc. to her, Mrs. grc0456 does prefer the darker Midnight Blue Metallic.by grc0456 - Main Forum
Haha, G - yes, the darker cars do show every blemish. But I don't mind keeping it polished up. Drive, clean, repeat - I say. The Rennline pedal set has been no problem for me so far. The rubber grips seem to do their job, and I think the set came with some extras, too. Yeah, the car shows nice. Not a Concours car, but many people are shocked when I tell them it has 160k on the clock (50k onby grc0456 - Main Forum
Thanks, Frogster. I love the Midnight Blue Metallic, too. It is also a bit changeable depending on light conditions...ranging from navy to blackish to purplish. But, it's the dark blue over Savanna Beige combo that really makes it a looker, IMHO. I bought the car five years ago from a rather shady character (see below) who bought it as a roller, rehabbed it, and saved it from the car crusher.by grc0456 - Main Forum
Never! It's all tucked away and plugged into the battery maintainer - at least until the next bluebird winter day, that isby grc0456 - Main Forum

Man, I do love that brown over brown!by grc0456 - Main Forum
It's hard to believe it's been a little more than 5 years since I became part the Boxster world and Pedro's Board, but it's been one of the most enjoyable periods of my life. Here's a bit about how I got here. I guess it all started back in the 1970's when I knew more than one person who owned a 914. It remains a "love/hate" car for many, but I was smitten. I loved the way it was so low to thby grc0456 - 10 years of PB
It's tough decision, and one that I wrangled over for a few years. At first, I tried Rocky Mtn. Sheepskins that a friend gave me. Super comfy, cool in summer and warm in winter - but can be a bit smelly and I wasn't a fan of the looks. Then I went down the DIY route with a high quality repair kit from Color Plus. It included cleaner, filler and dye. I followed the instructions to a T, and itby grc0456 - Main Forum
Dynasty Auto Tops, Stoneham, MA - about 10 miles north of Boston. The owner is named Arthur. He also replaced my top a few years ago.by grc0456 - Main Forum
I had my seats fully reupholstered in full leather with perforated inserts, including replacing broken webbing under seats with a higher strength canvas material - and having them fully repadded with new foam. All in was about $1650. Only thing I lost was the embossed crests in the headrests. They look, feel and smell amazing. I'm in MA, so let me know if you want the shop info.by grc0456 - Main Forum
Happy Birthday to her! Love the green. And, don't you feel better for cleaning out those condensers/rads?by grc0456 - Main Forum
Didn't know Chuck (I met his daughter and son-in-law at BRBS), but RIP and thanks for starting this board that Pedro graciously continues.by grc0456 - Main Forum
So, when my water pump needed replacing (no coolant leak or dump, but I could hear the "tweety bird" sound of a failing bearing when I rev'd the car) a few years ago, I took it to my (at the time) indie. I never asked or specified which type of blades - plastic or metal - he would use. After the job was done, I asked and they said they use nothing by metal blades, have been using them for yeaby grc0456 - Main Forum
Where were the fact checkers when they were needed?!?!by grc0456 - Main Forum
Although I can't speak to the fuse box jump, I can say that your car should have an emergency release cable (looks like piano wire with a pull loop). If you are not the original owner, it is possible the cable has been relocated for ease of access. I suggest looking behind the tow hook cover or removing the passenger side headlight and looking there.by grc0456 - Main Forum
