This location was the site of heavy fighting between the Canadians and the Germans after the D-Day landings. 18 Canadians were taken prisoner, held and individually executed in the gardens of the Abbaye d'Ardenne. Reportedly the prisoners were each interrogated and could hear the nearby executions. The memorial garden gets fresh flowers regularly. I bought an oil filter from AutoZone before my current oil change. I remove the old filter and notice that the new filter hole size is much smaller than the old one (7/8" vs 1-1/4"). I tried to put it on, but doing so would require some force to get it installed. So, I put the old one back on instead. I order new 2 ones from RockAuto and they arrived the other day. I put the Mann filter on and itby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

I went to an independent shop that had the PIWIS software to re-program the keys. But, they needed to have the ECU access codes before they could start. When they called their local Porsche dealer, the response was 2 days to get. I couldn't have that, so I personally went to the dealership and ultimately convinced them to provide them to the shop. So, prepare for this whenever you want to re-progby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Make sure that all the tabs that hold the battery together are in the right position (3 holding tabs?). Mine had the longer and thinner one bent over, not allowing the battery to make full contact with the transmitter. Then the transmitter assembly needs to click into the bottom half (the part without the rubber pushbuttons but with the small Porsche emblem. A few years ago, my ignition key needed a new battery. I put a new one in, but the key buttons would no longer operate their function and the key light would stay on (and drain to dead). I removed the battery and the key still functions otherwise (manual lock/unlock and starts the car). My spare key acts similarly (battery also removed now). Indy Car Racing Experience Wow, what an amazing ride! I got belted up, the car was fired up and we blasted off immediately. I have been told that the straightaway speed was between 140 and 160 mph (Indy Cars 185 mph there). A lengthened Dallara chassis with a detuned Honda engine. I was still shaking 45 minutes after the ride. Obviously the acceleration was incredible, but for me the car's abilby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
It is the standard version (non-litronic) with the amber triangle. It is in immaculate condition. From my '00 S. I can email a pic. PM mail me if you are interested. I also have a pair of rear taillights with the amber lens. They are also in immaculate condition.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
He and his new mechanic, Elvis, got it for cheap because it had a potentially expensive engine issue. It turned out to be bore scoring. I was surprised the low amount that they paid (excluding Elvis's labor) to rebuild the engine. I learned that the 987s are also suspect for this condition. Has anyone here had to deal with bore scoring? Like the retro look that they did to the 997?by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Paraphrasing his response: He sold both the Turbo and the Boxster in late 2017 and bought different cars. A 2018 Scat Pack and a 2018 MINI JCW. Then 2 months later, traded in the Scat Pack for a 2018 Hellcat. Then in April 2020, he retired and moved out of CA to NW Arkansas (Benton County). Then sold the MINI. Kept the Hellcat, but in August 2020, added a 2020 M-B van to his garage. Then lastby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
Car ran great, no cooling issues. After I shut off the car and leave the garage, I hear the radiator fans kick on. I come back in and out of the garage several times and notice that the radiator fans are stopping and stopping several times. I can understand why the engine compartment fans would be cycling on and off, but why would the radiator fans? The car is off, the coolant is not flowing thrby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

I took her in to our local alignment and suspension expert (Johnson's Alignment- Steve Alarcon of IMSA fame) for an assessment. I have been hearing and feeling a lot of thuds (when going over bumps) and rhythmic rattles (on rough roads). My car has 117K miles on it. Control arm bushings, shocks, sway bar bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends and drop links are all still OK. However, the front shockby Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
I have been very happy with them (grip, noise, relative comfort for 18"). But, I only get about 12K out of them (rears) and 24K (fronts). This time I replaced the rears with Kumho Ecsta. I have 4K on them now and they are very comparable to the SO4s, but at a lower price. 2000 Boxster S.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum
I have multiple cars where it will be used, so it needs to be easily portable. I prefer one that has internal storage, so that I don't have to rely on a wireless phone signal. I would like to have it have the ability to record over the old recordings. 2000 Boxster S, 6 speed. Thanks.by Tony in Whittier - Main Forum

I have always been a sports car enthusiast and fan. I admired a friend’s early 924. I got to drive a 928 to the market once. A car pool friend owned a 914 that he drove to work. He let me once drive it on our way back home on a twisty residential road around the Rose Bowl. That hooked me on Porsche. My first sports car was a 1971 240Z. I put over 200,000 miles on it before I grew tired of it.by Tony in Whittier - 10 years of PB

a manual shift. He made a lot of the physical changes and Mike took the gearbox to a racing shop that modified the shift mechanisms from electronic to manual control. They also had to re-flash the ECU. Ant stated that BMW uses the same gearbox (with factory modifications) for a manual vs automatic shift preference.
