Could this be it? Lots of speculation right now. Porsche will have to bring the fuel consumption down with its fleet.by Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum
There are a couple of thing that could be causing the battery to lose a charge. 1. The battery may have a bad cell. (this happened to me a few years ago when I bought a new battery for my wife's car - new battery and it died a couple of days later, had it boosted and it died again. Had it checked out and they found one cell dead. Got a free replacement and all was well after that.) 2. It couldby Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum

Quotesteve on hhi I do leave the car unlocked in my garage. Does that mean the dashlights will stay on? I'm not sure if it's exactly the same with the 986/996 but with my 06 987, the lights you're describing stay on a few minutes ( 3 or 4) after closing the door without locking the car.by Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum
QuoteRoger987 Betcha one of those 2006 Arctic Silver's with chrome tailpipes and 18" wheels could do it, too. a friend with a car just like that said that it is so. What a coincidence.by Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum

I agree that the bottom of the car needs to be washed off because suspension, brakes etc get the salt on them first. Problem is. If you do it at the car wash, by the time you get the car back home, there's just as much salt on those under-car parts as there was when you started out. The technique is fine if you get snow and then things clear off for a while. Local roads are generally covered inby Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum

Roger, your suspicions are correct. I'm 99% certain there is no locking feature on the trunk releases. Personally, like Marc, I wouldn't leave any valuables in the car overnight while travelling. For sure, I leave nothing visible in the car, just remove any temptation.by Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum
Porsche took that test drive one down. I've got one that we took while out for one of our Fall drives. Still trying to figure a way of attaching the video camera. My current camerawoman has trouble keeping the camera still ..mumbles something about hard to keep it still when I'm shifting, cornering and accelerating. Bumpy backroads don't help either. I was just poking around the Porsche website and discovered that Arctic Silver is on the option list again for "standard" metalic colours. (not in Canada, though - just US and China at this point.) Hopefully, they're just in the process of updating the other country sites and bringing it back everywere. BTW, Roger, nothing against your GT Silver. I love it. When you think about it, Marc, you've got a LOT of use out of your Boxster. I know even you have said it's the most reliable car that you've owned. 200+K miles is a lot of ground to cover with a car. I hope that $3K gets you a lot more smiles out of your Boxster.by Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum
the only thing I have trouble understanding is that he seems to see the Spyder almost being a completely different car from the Boxster. But....I understand how he feels. You and I, Roger - and all the rest of us who are lucking enough to own Boxsters, really are lucky. When that s**w melts in April. We'll be able to drive our Boxsters any time we want. Not just for a limited test. I love Aprilby Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum
Freezing drizzle or rain is really bad. I hope you've seen the last of it. Maybe even worse can be black ice. A fine dusting of snow polished into the pavement which looks like dry road. It can really fool you. First time I hit it was coming back from Florida in the 70's. About 60 miles from home - dry road (so I thought) at night. I was wondering why there were cars in the ditch here and thereby Guenter in Ontario - Main Forum

Quotenmanitou (Doug in MI) So here I am, waiting for clear roads. Boxster is asleep, but I am already getting twitchy. Am I the only one who visits their car daily during hibernation for a nice pat on the rear? Nope! You're not the only one. I take a look at mine quietly sleeping a few times a day. ......sigh. QuoteRoger987 Notice there was one guy who understood that a car can't be steered if the front wheels aren't turning? He's the guy who didn't mash the brakes, but, instead, steered his way around the carnage. Bravo! Yes, there are some people out there who actually know how to drive a car. I'm not doubting you. I've just never seen an Audi dealership garage which looks that small. Very surprising. I'm also hoping my post didn't sound negative toward indys because I think there are really good ones out there. Just somehow, this shop doesn't look like one of the good ones.
