QuoteTony in Whittier Were there issues with the lesser aerodynamic shape of the frameless type vs the OEM framed type? I have the frameless type on my truck and I like their performance. How has the winter been for Vancouver? aerodynamics only became a problem at 120 MPH. no, i never had any problems. the blades i have on my car now have left and right and each has a curved surface like an aby frogster - Main Forum
i thought that it never rains in southern california. i had the frameless bosch icon on my boxster and i liked them very much. they clear the glass very well and are very quiet which is important for me. noisy wipers drive me nuts. i've been putting those on every car for nearly 20 years now.by frogster - Main Forum

1300 for an alternator is ludicrous. time to find another mechanic. are you aware of the fact that there's a very large opening to the engine compartment directly behind the seats? that's how you get to the alternator IIRC.by frogster - Main Forum
hah, all the gadgets on the manual transmission are hilarious. locking out the "wrong" gears, gear change assist, rev matching. talk about nannying. porsche thinks you're a moron. the guy who did the video had an odd choice of t-shirt too.by frogster - Main Forum
Quotebengalfan When I click on the the DYI topics, I get a message I'm not allowed into it anymore (used to work just fine). are you saying that you cannot see the list of posts in the DIY forum or that you cannot post there? I too get the message "Sorry, you do not have permission to post/reply in this forum." but that's because i suspect that pedro made these posts read only. All of the postby frogster - Main Forum
to expand upon what MarcW says regarding N spec tires. In my back to back (to back to back) experience with the exact same tire model (Michelin Pilot Sport), size, and tread pattern, one set with and one set without the N spec, i got 10,000 km out of the N spec and 20,000 km out of the non-N spec under the same driving location and patterns. my non-empirical butt dyno measurements felt that the Nby frogster - Main Forum

it seems to me that the most important part of this discussion is never brought up; what does "automatic" mean? tiptronic and a pdk are both automatic but they are far from being the same. i abhorred automatic transmissions in the past but that was when all automatic transmissions were "slush boxes." The engine transferred power to the wheels via a liquid coupling. It was not a direct mechanicalby frogster - Main Forum

Quotedb997S Porsche took an extra 993 shell that was laying around and wrapped it around today's technology or did they stuff today's technology into the extra 993 shell that they had lying around? (you got peanut butter in my chocolate…)by frogster - Main Forum
QuoteSteveJ (2010 987 base, manual trans) This still leaves the necessity of working on the headlight after it has been removed from the fender with dangling wires attaching it to the car. i know nothing about the 987 but to the best of my recollection, my MY2000 986 didn't have any wires to connect or disconnect. there were contacts, no plugs or wires.. the first time i changed a bulb took a liby frogster - Main Forum

In Geneva, the annual registration fee (road tax) on a boxster S is currently US$1640 (I just checked the geneva DMV website). Switzerland is one of the cheaper countries for road tax. in france it's way way more. many countries have been giving huge incentives for so called "zero emissions" cars or even low CO2 cars. In geneva, it was zero road tax for two years IIRC. plus, there's a big "i waby frogster - Main Forum

QuoteGuenter in Ontario The "general population" in most European countries doesn't have the disposable income that Americans have. Also, I'm sure you've noticed that fuel is a lot more expensive than in North America. That's why there is such a high proportion of diesels and small displacement engine cars. I can see that EV's make more sense in Europe since countries, and therefore distances traby frogster - Main Forum
