The width of the pads is the same (front and rear). The difference is that the fronts are a little taller. On my car I installed 996 caliper and rotors up front but left the rear brakes stock. ... all Boxsters eventually. The foam that forms the air deflection gates on the air controller deteriorates and begins to disintegrate. It will spew foam for a few months. You can help to clear it by closing all vents but one, running the fan at full blast and using a strong vacuum cleaner to suck it out of the vent. Also, after MY '06 Porsche did a band-aid fix by beefing up the single row IMS; but by the same token the IMS can only be serviced by opening the engine. ... a vacuum reservoir. It's just an empty container. You can probably fix it like I did mine in place. Get a short piece of metal tubing that fits inside the vacuum hose. Heat it up with a flame (cigarette lighter) and insert it into the reservoir just where the original nipple was. ... was probably off and the dealer brought it back to spec. The "normal" alignment is for the car to try to "follow" any imperfections on the road. That makes for a more crisper steering.
