That was truly a sad, sad time. Last Saturday, I went back to Green Park Inn in Blowing Rock, site of BRBS III. I sat in a rocking chair on the expansive porch and fondly remembered rocking with Chuck and Cecil at that same spot back in 2001. I then checked the gallery from BRBS I and saw this photo of those two. Chuck was a humble man who created an amazing online community of folks and touby Karl from So. Carolina - Main Forum
Thanks for all the kind words, guys. Truth is, we just throw the party; each and every one of you are what make the event so special.by Karl from So. Carolina - Main Forum
QuoteMark from SC PS. Karl, if you read this, I'm from SC, not CT! Mark, it was all that heat from the blazin' fire in the lobby that caused that momentary lapse of consciousness! Still, Connecticut is a nice state if you ever want to move there.by Karl from So. Carolina - Main Forum
I apologize for cross-posting, but we wanted to break the news on the Main Forum. Although we were led to believe that Pedro was not going to make the Blue Ridge Boxster Summit event because of his unfortunate accident, he was sighted by paparazzi checking in at Switzerland Inn earlier today. Stay tuned to the gallery at www.brbs.org for more Pedro Sightings during the event!by Karl from So. Carolina - Main Forum

We sent out an e-mail to our 2012 list, but realize a few may not have received it, so we're cross-posting here. E-mail us if you didn't get the e-mail sent out last evening about the Thursday Early Event. As you know, our beloved Pedro Bonilla had a serious accident at his home on May 11th. Pedro broke 8 ribs and cracked 4 vertebrae. He's in much pain, but he's home now making a slow recovery.by Karl from So. Carolina - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
It was fun at the Blue Ridge Boxster Summit each year when the new folks would come to realize after a day or so that Chuck was "Porsche Pete." The Porsche Pete persona, as exemplified by the logo, was one of a flashy, fun-loving, out-going character. Chuck, on the other hand, was very quiet, reserved, and introspective. He would never allow us to showcase him in anyway at the event, despite hby Karl from So. Carolina - In Chuck's memory

State Farm uses inter-company arbitration. If the "B"'s insurance company also uses it, then the cost to State Farm is nominal, and they usually pursue it. If they do pursue it, then follow up because you're entitled to a return of your deductible if they succeed, or a pro-rata share if less than 100% recovery since Georgia is a modified comparative negligence state and some arbitrators take thby Karl from So. Folks, We're pleased to announce that for this year's Thursday Early Event, we're returning to Thunder Valley -- The World's Fastest Half Mile . . . . . BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY! Two years ago, we stumbled upon this opportunity and had a rather serendipitous time on the track. Because of the small number of cars at that time, because we basically cut the lock on the track and got in (well, notby Karl from So. Carolina - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
When we were there 10 days ago, there were a fair number of motorcycles on the loop. There are some very nice roads we're also scheduling throughout the event. We think you'll enjoy this different stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway and surrounding roads, as those around Blowing Rock were getting rather stale.by Karl from So. For those arriving from the north and planning to come down the Parkway, be aware The Blue Ridge Parkway will be closed to all traffic from Milepost 232.5 at Stone Mountain Overlook to Milepost 244.7 at Basin Cove Parking Overlook beginning April 20, 2011, and lasting until mid-summer of 2011. We'll be leaving Switzerland Inn at 9:30 a.m. that morning, not at 10:00 a.m. as previously announced. Adjust your travel time accordingly. We're finalizing contracts today and tomorrow for that early event. Details will be posted and e-mailed this weekend.by Karl from So. Carolina - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)

Pedro, I've got the room assignment list and I'll let you know what I find out. I will "delicately" ask a few "I see you have double beds. You seem happily married. Did you really want a King Size?!" Kby Karl from So. Carolina - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
