Great shot Guenter. I’m curious, what ‘new road’ is this?by paulofto - Main Forum
Quoteleandrog Thanks for the reply Pedro! Frunk, trunk and doors closing and locking just fine. What is Oddsment compartment? Where to start diagnosing? Thanks! Leandro Glove box and console.by paulofto - Main Forum
After 9 very good years of ownership I have sold my 2003 Boxster S to a fellow Winnipegger. I purchased the car in the fall of 2014 with 46,000 Miles on the odometer and put on just over 30,000 Miles in the 9 years with a couple of extended western Canadian and US trips in that time. The Covid years greatly reduced the number of miles put on in 20 thru 22. Over all it has been a great car and isby paulofto - Main Forum
The trans bushing leak is very common. I have lived with it since I bought the car. I do a periodic level check at the fill plug and have only had to top up once in 10 years and it was only a few ounces. The fix is prohibitively expensive since the tranny has to be pulled and opened up from what I have heard. That’s why I just live with it.by paulofto - Main Forum
I am in the early stages of putting my 03 S up for sale. It is still in winter storage but I have posted it on the PCA Market Place and I thought I'd give forum members a first look. Here is a link to the posting if you are interested.by paulofto - Cars for Sale
You don’t mention what year it is but I know from experience and discussions on other forums that it is likely the connectors at the transmission end of the shifter cables have come detached. If they have it is a simple fix and their are products out there to provide a better connection.by paulofto - Main Forum
#1- It looks nothing like a GT1 #2- It looks horrible #3- Do they really think adding all that crap will make it a better car? #4- Why do so many bad ideas come from after market suppliers?by paulofto - Main Forum
Well it is white here with crystal clear blue skies…… and -32C. That’s -26F for our US friends. With wind chill it is somewhere near -40C or F. Happy New Year all!by paulofto - Main Forum
Hey Pedro, nice to see your quick bio feature in the tech question section of Panorama this month. Keep up the good work, your expertise and opinions are always appreciated.by paulofto - Main Forum
Neither does the CDR-23by paulofto - Main Forum
And a Merry Christmas to you Pedro. It is a very cold very white Christmas up here in the heart of The Great White North.by paulofto - Main Forum
I believe it is Barcelona further south than Rome but only by the thinnest crust of a chorizo pizza.by paulofto - Main Forum
Pelee Island in Lake Erie is indeed the most southerly point in Canada being well below the 45th parallel. Even south eastern Nova Scotia is significantly further south than anywhere in B.C.by paulofto - Main Forum
Good stuff Guenter I miss those great drives in southern Ontario. I put my Boxster to bed for the winter yesterday. This morning we have a dusting of snow on the ground. Spring is only 5 months away.by paulofto - Main Forum
I use CAA the Canadian equivalent of the AAA. Since it covers the member and not the vehicle it can be used for any vehicle you may drive or even be a passenger in. I have three vehicles so any vehicle based assistance would be prohibitively expensive.by paulofto - Main Forum
QuoteIwas There (Toronto) So am I better to try and get hold of a 2003/2004 top and install it or am i better to order a GAHH top. My local installer in Southern Ontario wants $2500 Cdn to install a new top with plastic window or $2900 Cdn. for a new top with glass window. He has a supplier. Considering the actual labour involved and the materials needed, $2900CDN doesn't sound out of line to meby paulofto - Main Forum
+1 What he said. The newer cars are not as easy to work on and the older ones are getting real long in the tooth, 03-04, which are near identical, still allow a lot of DIY but are modern enough. I am biased since I own an 03 S so take that for what it is.by paulofto - Main Forum
I shake my head 'Taycan Turbo S' Turbo. On an ELECTRIC car What is this, Battlestar Galactica, just label something Turbo for the hell of it? Turbo LOL And the 911's & 718's WITH turbos don't say it. Marketing gone stupid.by paulofto - Main Forum
Up here in the Great Whit North we have an issue. Heat or lack thereof. Water cooled ICEs have always had plenty of waste heat to feed the passenger compartment. Electric vehicles rely on the same electricity that drives the wheels to also heat the interior. This severely compromises the range these vehicles get. Same applies to areas in the south that get +100F temps on a regular basis that taxby paulofto - Main Forum
Damn it man! You made me toss up my breakfast!by paulofto - Main Forum
+1 on contacting Woody (itsnotanova). I bought one from him a year ago and paid under $40 CDN.by paulofto - Main Forum
That's the ULTRA RARE 1980 Boxster Targa. They moved the engine to the rear to accommodate a back seat. It would be 17 years before another Boxster would see the light of day.by paulofto - Main Forum
I would have said exactly what you said.by paulofto - Main Forum
Pedro, that floor looks clean enough to eat off!!! Congratulations on your new location!by paulofto - Main Forum
The cams have chains, not belts, and the tensioners are hydraulic & self adjusting. Yours is a 5 chain system. 5-chain: Boxster thru 2002; 996 Carrera thru 2001 3-chain: Boxster 2003 and later; 996 Carrera 2002 and laterby paulofto - Main Forum
+1 on Schumacher. I have one on my hibernating 03 Boxster S and one on my infrequently driven winter beater 06 Fusion for about 5 years now. Quality products. Check out their site.by paulofto - Main Forum
LOL. Truth be told I never had an 8 track (cassette man here) nor a pet rock nor a View Master. But I did have the famous Farrah Fawcett poster and its required mate, Linda Carter as Wonder Woman. Both were in my tricked out 1975 Dodge Van but sadly both are long gone along with the van Just so you don't think I was a total dork, I traded in the van for a 1978 FIAT X 1/9. I've been a mid engine gby paulofto - Main Forum
Well that gives you an idea how old I am. I have an old 'L/100KM to MPG' (Imperial Gallons) conversion chart that the Canadian government gave out back in 1975 when we went metric. Somehow it stuck around in my desk. I really have to go through that desk!by paulofto - Main Forum
Guenter, I'm assuming those are imperial gallons not US gallons?by paulofto - Main Forum
