I think they were so clean due to the torrential rain we encountered from just north of Pittsburgh to just about all the way home. But the first half of the drive was great, sunny and top down!by Crooster - Main Forum
Yup that was it. Line had popped off the nipple inside the fender liner. Easy fix!by Crooster - Main Forum
I just tried shooting compressed air thru the nozzles and now I realize they take more pressure than can be supplied by mouth! They appear to be flowing ok. I think the problem is a leak in the bulkhead connector where the line enters the wheelwell area where the reservoir is located. Tomorrow I will pop off the fender liner and take a peek.by Crooster - Main Forum
Our 2001 Boxster performed flawlessly on the trip to BRBS this year but strangely the windshield washer stopped spraying on the trip back. I figured that I had neglected to fill the reservoir but once home I found that the fluid was ending up on the garage floor when I sprayed. Both nozzles appear to be blocked. I cannot blow any air by mouth thru either. I have removed them and have them soaby Crooster - Main Forum
Agreed - our second and we had a great time. Great job by Karl, Ron, Nell and Mary. Reserved our room for next year and cannot wait!by Crooster - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
I use the dry method for bleeding (after a track weekend, for example) and the wet when performing a full fluid swap just to lessen the chance I will run the reservoir dry.by Crooster - Main Forum
I think the Black Editions are usually cosmetic packages / equipment bundles. Tulio Pianegonda should be at BRBS with his 2012 Black Edition to check out in person. It is strange they don't offers this on an S.by Crooster - Main Forum
I''m tempted to drive out and see this beast in person before it gets delivered. Good timing!by Crooster - Main Forum
Is it possible that some rodents got into your storage space?by Crooster - Main Forum
I never did follow up on this post. I ended up shopping around for the best price I could find on the factory Litronics, and replaced the whole headlight units, along with clear corners on the turn signal portion.by Crooster - Main Forum
Ok that wins for the most difficult air filter change I have seen!by Crooster - Main Forum
I also find this disturbing. I manage a software development team and know that it is hard to be bug free and predict every possible scenario.by Crooster - Main Forum
The mesh does represent a trade off in airflow but you have to balance that against the reduction in cooling by ingesting larger objects and the extra protection against condenser damage (which I have seen on a few track cars). As long as I still maintain a regular cleanout schedule I think the mesh is worthwhile. Regardless it's easy to remove the grills if I notice any difference in temps.by Crooster - Main Forum
I still plan regular cleanouts even with the mesh. I have noticed that the 981 rads / condenser are very exposed to road debris as compared to my 986 which have the rads tucked back out of the direct path somewhat.by Crooster - Main Forum
No advise on the E6000 but I thought I would mention that I used it to seal a small crack in my rear window the other day. My own fault - I was too impatient to do some work on the car and tried to put the roof in service position when it was obviously too cold out.by Crooster - Main Forum
Forgot to mention that I did install some mesh over the intakes that I bought cheap off of EBay before I remounted the bumper. This should cut down on the amount of debris somewhat but I still plan to perform a clean out every couple of years.by Crooster - Main Forum
I popped the front bumper this morning to cleanout the radiators and condensers for the first time in preparation for BRBS. I have seen how much debris can get collected in there watching the how to videos on YouTube, but I was still shocked how much crud was actually in there! A couple of hours well spent!by Crooster - Main Forum
Yup - perfect day! I have the sunburn to prove it! ;-)by Crooster - Main Forum
Reviving my old thread - Well after cleaning the MAF more thoroughly last June, the CEL stayed away until yesterday and now P1128 / P1130 are back. Now when I try and remove the oil fill cap I'm getting significant pressure and I can just barely remove the cap. I don't recall it being so difficult last year when I tried this test. I'm guessing this is pretty good evidence my AOS is on its way oby Crooster - Main Forum
How does the oil look Guenter? Hoping that's not where the coolant went!by Crooster - Main Forum

Unless you are replacing your 986 with a 981, you will probably regret selling it. Just keep it.by Crooster - Cars for Sale
Another day and another great activity planned by Karl and Ron. Really looking forward to this one too!by Crooster - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
True what Pedro says. When I raced 125cc shifter karts the weight of kart and driver had to be 385 lbs at the end of the race when you rolled over the scales. Some of the bigger guys could not make that weight and suffered quite a disadvantage, and that was on a much more powerful kart than what we will have. Luckily I had to add weight to my kart, but I'm not too sure that would still be theby Crooster - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
I agree. At the very least I plan on making Pedro work for it!by Crooster - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
...and that appears to be far from a certainty! Up here we spend our winters ice karting, also known as snowmobiling. Hopefully this will translate to the track. Worked for Gilles Villeneuve! The facility looks great! I am excited about this event.by Crooster - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
The email from Karl and Ron appears to have a kart track photo as a clue to an activity planned for Thursday. So who is gonna start the smack talk? Maybe a little Ontario vs. Florida match is in order? ;-)by Crooster - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
