I purchased a replacement Interstate Battery from Virginia Tire and Auto for half the price of the OEM from dealership... came with a 5 or 7 year warranty... just removed other and dropped in new... had the vent plug just like original.by ugleeual - Main Forum
Just got it back late yesterday... IMA Motorsport in Chantilly, VA were able to find/fix the problem after troubleshooting. Had to replace the EVAP Shutoff Valve first ... then had to replace the MAF Sensor. CEL gone... car runs great.... out of pocket $1,200.00... that hurt a bit but i was able to get my emissions passed in VA. Glad did not try the fix myself... would have changed perfectly gby ugleeual - Main Forum
I'm taking my car into IMA Motosport this week to hopefully resolve my VA Emissions nightmare (I cannot pass test). last week my CEL came on just prior to getting my emissions text in VA. I called IMA and owner said to bring into run codes on his Porsche Diagnostic Computer... which i did. Codes came up are CEL, P0446, P1128 & P1130. Car is running great except fuel efficiency is a littleby ugleeual - Main Forum
I'm all about learning and doing it myself... if that means buying some tools that will benefit me in the future than i'm all for it. I can do pretty much all the mx on my car... but i'm moron with the sensors/exhaust/etc. Thanks for all the info.by ugleeual - Main Forum
Does a OBD scanner (like the model mentioned) have the ability to pinpoint exactly which O2 sensor is bad?by ugleeual - Main Forum
Thanks... i was thinking the cheaper models also... but then noticed the "real time" O2 Sensor Info... figured with my O2 sensor issues this would be a good option. Thoughts? Will an idiot DIY be able to use this type of data or will it be over my head?by ugleeual - Main Forum
I'm looking at buying a OBD Reader/Scanner in the $150 range... anyone have a recommendation? I will use on my 2001 Boxster and 2008 Land Rover. Should i buy the code book that goes along with it or is there a good website tha has all the info? Any recommendations/comments are welcome. I'm a MAC computer user... and understand that Actron is windows only... but understand that the reader is sby ugleeual - Main Forum
Thanks Mike, you remember what the tool name/size you purchased from Sears? I will give it a go before shelling out the cash for a new part. Cheers, Russby ugleeual - Main Forum
Thanks for the info... i will take it back to the dealer and have them run the codes again. I have the Bentley repair guide... will give it a go. Thanks again. Russby ugleeual - Main Forum
I'm over in Northern Virginia. I've had the CEL come on before... about 6 months ago my wife ran it out of gas... and i had a local independent reset the code.by ugleeual - Main Forum
what's it cost to replace the MAF? DIY job or go dealership/independent? If its a DIY... what special tools and how much is the part? Thanks!by ugleeual - Main Forum
Dealer says i need new O2 sensors to pass my emissions test... should i have all 4 swapped out at once or 2 at a time? The tech mentioned its pretty impossible to tell which ones need to be swapped out. My car only has 45K miles... hardly driven... but needs to start getting some new parts i guess. I'm pretty handy... is this something i can do by myself if i have access to a lift and tools?by ugleeual - Main Forum
right... i assumed they would go into dealer and have it turned on... mine did it during a routine service for free.by ugleeual - Parts for Sale
What's the difference in price for both types of mounts? What equipment you need to swap it out? DIY project?by ugleeual - Main Forum
PM sent... i'm checking on the part number for a 2.7 Boxster, manual transmission.by ugleeual - Main Forum
This has the Deactivation Bar that you need to plug into the passenger seat... seat + bar is all you need to have your child travel safely in a 911 or Boxster.by ugleeual - Parts for Sale
I have a 2001 Boxster... noticed a "leak" in the LCD near the odometer that seems to be getting worse. I called Suncoast and they said $2200 for a replacement instrument cluster! Anyone else have this problem? What other remedies exist?by ugleeual - Main Forum
Thanks Guys... I'll check with Suncoast or Performance to see if they have the LCD screen that is damaged.by ugleeual - Main Forum
I purchased this seat back in 2004 for my 2001 Boxster... in great shape with everything you need to install and get rolling. I'll take $150 + shipping charges in US. I don't know what models this will fit... but read on another forum its good for late 90s and up to mid-2000 boxster/carreras... but check with your dealer to be sure.by ugleeual - Parts for Sale
I have a similar problem... my 2001 Boxster's LCD gauge (odomoter area) has what appears to be a crack/leak... is this an easy swap? Where do you buy this type of part? Any help/clues will be appreciated.by ugleeual - Main Forum
