The fans (radiators and engine compartment) are set to be triggered by the temp sensors whether the car is running or not. After you parked you car, there is quite a bit of heat built up into the coolant. So, the radiator fans run for a little while, drop the temp and shut off. Sometime later, the temp builds back up to the point where they're triggered again. Normal operating procedure. Happy Bby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum

It sure sounds like a microswitch issue. If it turns out to be the same microswitch in the latch, then the positioning of the microswitch may need a slight adjustment. To determine whether it's that switch, when the convertible top stops its movement repeatedly press with your finger two or three times in quick succession the microswitch to see if it allows the top to finish its cycle. Happy Boxsby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
Those pieces protect the convertible top from getting caught in the mechanism. It's not very secure because it doesn't have to be. You can bend in the metal tabs so they put more pressure on the arm, but I would use them. Happy Boxstering, Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
At this age (20+ years) plastic materials start to deteriorate and break down. Sometimes you can "clean" sticky surfaces with acetone or similar but other times you need to replace. Happy Boxstering, Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum

... is correct. The cable comes from the factory tucked the way he shows, next to the right headlight. That loop is what I mentioned you should try to hook from underneath. Any small battery maintainer/trickle charger with a 12 volt connector should do the trick. If you want a good one to connect to the battery, then a Schumacher, CTEK or similar will work (even one from Harbor Freight Tools). Haby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
What he pulled there was the actual shrouded bowden cable that goes from the pull on the driver's threshold to the hood latch itself. Doing that is really not advisable because it will damage the shroud and its mounting points. This would be a last resort if, for instance the actual emergency cable on the right headlight is broken or missing and your ice cream is melting in the frunk!. ... the direct-to-the-battery lug wasn't introduced until 2001 for model year 2002, so you can't find it because you don't have it. The emergency cable is not in the driver's wheel well, that's for the 987s, not 986s. The emergency cable in your car was installed by the factory to end near the right (passenger) headlight. I agree it's not the regulator. The other likely issue could be the door locking mechanism. Happy Boxstering, Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum

... I'll be presenting, again. It was one of my favorite events of 2019 even though I didn't have my car with me. Thankfully, I did get to ride with Leelitch in his SE Orange Boxster. My intent is not to make a profit, just to cover expenses for the Board. I figured it would be easy to tie it to something that the car needs, such as tires, but people forget. I think Amazon would be the same, but would add another commercial banner which we don't want. ... is by installing an Accusump. I've had a 3 qt. one in my car for many years now (over 10). Although it's designed to eliminate oil starvation during long fast sweepers at the track it works as a pre-oiler as well. When I switch off the engine, the Accusump will hold 3 qt. of oil under pressure (whatever the oil pressure was when I switched the engine off). When you take the panels off, make sure the windows are up. But you can drive the car without any warning lights or error codes. As you assume, pulling on the bowden cable will open the door. Happy Porsche'ing, Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
