Seem like proximity sensors with auto braking would make more sense, especially the tech is already here. Not only that, by preventing the actual collision, no repair to all parties involved would be needed.by RainyDayGarage - Main Forum
While the exterior covers say they are waterproof, and I've had them all (Porsche, CoverCraft, etc), water will get in. They are great for keeping bird crap off the car, make it easier to get the snow off, and protect the finish from the sun... however, don't expect them to keep the car bone dry during a rain storm. Does anyone else think the Tesla 3 looks like something which came from a Porsche design team? The lines of the hood/lights looks like it was lifted right from a Boxster. Looks pretty nice and priced to match.by RainyDayGarage - Main Forum

Bought an extra set of rims from someone who wanted larger ones than those which came on their Boxster years ago. Have tried different snow tires (Blizzarks, etc), but realized that as long as they were designed for snow and stayed soft in lower temps, they pretty much will beat any all-seasons out there. Here are some pics of when they were first purchased four years ago: They have about 20Kby RainyDayGarage - Main Forum
We took the Boxster out to go to an all-day Aikido event in Somerville and was heading home around 8PM. There was about 5" of snow on the ground. That amount is nothing for New England, but the plows have not had time to clear all the roads at that time. With all the storm warnings, there weren't many vehicles on the road. So the going, while slow, was pretty non-eventful... until we got to theby RainyDayGarage - Main Forum

Three seasons and 5000 miles later, still happy with them :-) Here is what they look like brand new:by RainyDayGarage - Main Forum
Of course, Porsche was probably assuming that folks working on their cars would be more careful with jacking them.by RainyDayGarage - Main Forum

they are near the jack points. One of them appears to leaking something. I think they might have damaged them on the lift.by RainyDayGarage - Main Forum
The weather in New England has been quite warm this year, but next week looks like some colder temps will arrive. Still, doing the Summer/Winter tire swap in mid-Nov is about 3 weeks later than previous years!!!by RainyDayGarage - Main Forum
Idle problem solved after cleaning MAF sensor and throttle body. CEL codes (P0446, P1128/P1130) and constant shutoff when fueling/trouble restarting when the engine is hot: - resolved after changing out the regeneration/purge valve (part number: 996-110-12906 $221)... it is the one under the intake manifold. 500 miles Boston/NY roundtrip...no new codes. Hope other will find this helpful in thby RainyDayGarage - Main Forum
Some are thinking O2 sensors, but I think the problem may be with the Purge line...comments/thoughts?by RainyDayGarage - Main Forum
having stuck a business card in between the space at the top as a temporary "fix"...three months later, STILL have not gotten around to doing the "permanent" fix :-)by RainyDayGarage - Main Forum
Just got the car back from the garage after an Air/Oil separator repair and the idle is "breathing" between 800 and 500 rpm. The car drives fine, but it doesn't seem quite normal. Would be interested in the Board's thoughts.by RainyDayGarage - Main Forum
The problem started with a a few weird situations where we had trouble starting the car, but never when it was cold. When the sensor started to REALLY go bad, the car would work for about 15 minutes, then dies...wait for a few hours, it would start up just fine...then dies again after driving for a bit.by RainyDayGarage - Main Forum
Car died after 15 minutes, right when we were crossing a small bridge on Longwood Ave at the Harvard Medical Area. Some genius then tells us "Hey, you can't park there." Buddy...are the hazard lights blinking too fast for your brain to register its meaning?by RainyDayGarage - Main Forum
We used that exact kit back in 2005 for testing out various MP3 players with the Becker radio... Very simple, but obviously not if you want to charge the device during use...so can be a problem for smartphones and such on a long drive (Boston to NYC for example).by RainyDayGarage - Main Forum
If you mean these...then Pelican Parts has them:by RainyDayGarage - Main Forum

Getting some intermittent whirling sounds from the front passenger area...AC/heat is off, so it is not the fan. Loud enough to hear it with the top down. There is no change in the speed of the whirling sound regardless of car speed Wondering if it could be from the fuel pump. Anyone with a similar experience?by RainyDayGarage - Main Forum
See the section at the end (Update...) : The E6000 fix is obvious best and less ugly looking when the cracks are small, but it seems to do a decent job if the cracks are along the seams. One those along the bottom is almost 2" long!by RainyDayGarage - Main Forum
