I found a harness and did the install. Problem now is it dosen't work. I can get the lights to do their dance only when the car is started with the light switch on. The hi beams dont cause it to move at all. So I know the motors are good. I suspect its either my headlight switch(cause it has been acting up ....no real detent anymore between parking lights and headlights) or I have the incorrect mby vza - Main Forum
Hi All, Doing a litronic upgrade on 99 boxster base and taking it up a notch. Going to add the litronic control module which allows the low beam to move up a few degrees when using the high beams. I want to make my own wire harness for the module (saving $) I need the pin out. would anyone have the pin out or point me in the right direction. Hi All, Some weird stuff going on with the window drop when getting in and out of the car. 99 boxster base. The right side seems fine. It seems it only half works. Heres what's going on: Open door from inside get out, shut the door it works(only one time) Open and shut door repeatedly from the inside without getting out it works Open door from outside and shut it from outside(without getting in tby vza - Main Forum
Hi, Thinking of doing a 996 cluster upgrade on my 99 boxster base. Will this basically be plug and play with exception of oil press switch and mileage? I'm hearing different stories about reprogramming and enabling the volt and oil press.gauges and needed yout original key codes. 99 Boxster Base I 've been having an ongoing problem with P1539 code and misfire codes...replaced Bank 2 Solenoid (not the actuator)/MAF/Plugs/AOS/ I recently opened up my DME and found a fried transistor, from other Porsche boards I'm learning this could have been the source of my problem...is that correct? I ordered the replacement transistor. Just curious as to what others have experienced.Thaby vza - Main Forum
ok...so if the actuator's getting power as the indie said it's definitely the actuator correct? What's the procedure for checking for 12v and triggering wire?by vza - Main Forum

99 Boxster Base...After new Bank 2 solenoid/MAF/AOS/Battery/Plugs/Actuator Ramps both banks,I'm right where I started CEL P1539 and some misfire codes here and there...Brought to indie....said bent valves/actuator or timing....bailed on me....car is now at another indie. Any thoughts....car actually runs and sounds well with a little lacking in pickup. Any thoughts??by vza - Main Forum
Ok..rewired my headlamp harnesses and figured out how to operate my headlamp switch thanks to your responses and all is working good so no need for a new switch BUT I noticed my xenon low beams are different colors. I read that 1 may be not aligned with the other....is this true..makes sense cause when I look at the beams at different angles the color matches. thanks vby vza - Main Forum
So...turn switch to the right to turn on lights. then pull turn to the left for fogs? Manual says something about pulling to 1st stop for front fogs and pull to 2nd stop for rear fogs.My switch springs back to normal position when pulled is that normal?by vza - Main Forum
99 boxster base..When turning on the fog lamps the manual says to pull the knob to the 1st position for the fronts and 2nd position for the rear. Is the knob supposed to remain in the pulled out position, mine returns back to the normal position so essentially my fog lights only stay on when holding the knob...Just confirming I need a new lamp switch thanks vby vza - Main Forum
Success, I managed to install the updated light using trial and error. Found the correct sequence for the 3 wires and works fine. I imagine the tiny light that remains illuminated will not be a battery drain it may be a small diode.....not sure. Thanks Vby vza - Main Forum
99 Boxster Base. Both windows don't roll all the way up unless I shim a small piece of rubber between the 'hook' and the latch. Am I correct to replace the micro switch located in the dome light? It only works with a shim .....if I push it with my finger it doesn't work either. Thanks Vby vza - Main Forum

Previous owner installed Xennon upgrade available from pelican.. He decided to upgrade the highbeam only....The lowbem bulb is the standard H7 halogen.I would prefer to use the xennon as the lowbeam, any reason why I shouldn't rewire it for the lowbeam. Makes more sense being lowbeams are used more frequently when driving.vby vza - Main Forum
One bulb fits into a 2 prong clip the other (top) is hard wired and goes to the ballast, just wondering how I would change it if I had to. Dosen't look like it would come out of the socket! Long narrow bulb w/ external wire..by vza - Main Forum

No... it actually has the Zenon upgrade kit which I guess is nice. Just bought the car in Aug so there's continuous suprises... . Think there were problems with wiring cause Germany was using biodegradable material of some sorts. Does any one know if there are gaskets available(one between body and assembly) also the rubber seal(that seals the bulbs into the casing) has degraded....can I use someby vza - Main Forum
Well I pulled the headlight and ALL the wires are crumbling...the insulation is just cracking off and some evidence of shorting going on....think that's what the problem is. Gona get some 18 gauge and a soldiering iron and make a new harness. vby vza - Main Forum
Hi, Had my brackets off...wasn't that bad of a job. Follow the 101 project job for trans removal. Maybe omit removing the muffler. I think the cross braces and trans cover would have to come off.Good luck.by vza - Main Forum
Actually it really doesn't matter does it? There are 2 grounds and 1 power..... 3 terminals total. As long as grounds are going to ground and power to power. In other words reversing the grounds would allow the switchposition to be reversed. ie. depressing switch forward continuous light...depressed backward switched w doors OR if ground wires were reversed...switch forward... switched w doors baby vza - Main Forum
99 Bosxter Base...I need to replace the dome light assembly because of a bad micro switch(windows don't fully close). So... I have a replacement but its a 2001 I believe. It has a nicer fixed dome light not the rickety one in the 99. Of course it has a different size connecter. The other connecters for the micro switch and infra red are the same. Hi,Anyone know if the headlamp switch is serviceable...maybe using contact cleaner. One headlight intermittently goes on and off. It's not the ignition switch replaced both mechanical and electrical ignition already.Thanks Vby vza - Main Forum
Well you are correct. Takes about 20 miles for the CEL to kick in. It's all over the place...misfires bank 1 then over to bank 2 ...back to bank 1 knock sensor(that's a 1st) cam alignment, cam plausible. I keep resetting it....fuel trims aren't as wide all closer to 0. It actually runs and sounds good though. Time to bring it in to an indie. Anyone know someone Bergen County NJ? Long story short. Did a bunch of work taking the cams out,replacing solenoid, IMS RMS,Clutch FW..... ran the car w/ lost timing....etc... Then had CEL for misfires, changed the MAF....misfires went over to the other bank. Then...I replaced my weak battery and haven' t thrown a CEL yet. I do however have pendings for misfires. Is it reasonable to say I'm in the clear and solved my problem and DMEby vza - Main Forum
Thanks..cleared pending codes and looking at fuel trims. What would be good numbers...should both banks be close or the same. The pending codes were for misfires and cam position. uh oh...its not throwing a CEL yet so still feeling ok about it. vby vza - Main Forum
WOW...I replaced my weak battery. Engine ran good...changed coolant and had to rev to 5000 RPMS to 'burp" the engine.....no CEL....NO CEL... Could it have really been the battery!!! Does any one know what the fuel trim should be at idle. I'm using Torque Lite and looking at fuel trim for banks 1 and 2 sensor 1. Mine both read -24% at idle and went toward 0% when revved.
