2001 Boxster S, Tip, 39000 miles. small leak on garage floor under the middle of the car - under the engine. It is colorless and almost odorless and not all that slippery/greasy.......would it be power steering fluid or brake fluid or transmission fluid? Thank you!by marbleheader - Main Forum

2001 Boxster S. My console from top to bottom is: cup holders, stock radio, cd holder, climate control. I would like to leave the climate control where it is, eliminate the other 3 things and add an open storage bin (1 space) and a new radio (taking up 2 spaces). I would like a radio with hands free cell phone (blue tooth), navigation, a hard drive for music storage, etc. Does anybody on this boaby marbleheader - Main Forum
I actually don't know exactly the brand of the top as the whole thing was coordinated via my mechanic. He sub contracted the job out to a top specialist he has used exclusively for years and I don't know who it is. I have been busy so I was happy to not have been really involved and let him handle it. I probably should have converted to a glass window but I let that one slide and the new one is cby marbleheader - Main Forum
2001 Boxster S Today I had a new German cloth top with clear plastic window installed. Is there any info I should know about "break in" time and the like? Can I begin putting the top up and down immediately? Should I Raggtop is right away? I noticed it was very hard to latch today, needs to stretch out? It was raining today and I noticed the rain water was really not "beading and running off"by marbleheader - Main Forum
I understand on my 2001 Boxster I have a choice of summer, year round or winter tires as an aftermarket decision. When purchasing a new 2013 Boxster, does it come with year round or summer tires, or does the dealer give you a choice? Thanksby marbleheader - Main Forum
When a new plastic window is sewn into the old original top, does the top have to come off?by marbleheader - Main Forum
after 11 years, the rear window in my 2001 S developed a crack today. Should I replace the entire top or just sew in a new window? What price range is an entire new top and price range for a window job only? Anybody good in the Boston area for this type of work? Thank youby marbleheader - Main Forum
Went to wake up my 2001boxster s from hibernation. Dead battery and I broke the release cable when I pulled it. How do I open the trunk for a jump?by marbleheader - Main Forum
I have a 2001S, tip, with 38,000 miles. She started something new this summer, only after fully up to temperature (and not if she has been sitting a while), when I start her up she will stall out immediately. Sometimes if I give some gas to get the revs up immediately she will catch, but generally she will stall out. She will stall out for 2 or 3 starting attempts and then finally catch and run sby marbleheader - Main Forum
LOL, Marc, I was not saying the brake fluid has not been changed in 10 years, I was simply saying that in bringing the car in for other reasons over the past year and asking about the brake fluid, he said is was OK to pass. I have done annual oil changes regardless of mileage. The brake fluid flush happens every 2 years except this time it has been 3. Thanks much Marc, I don't go to a dealer for service, I use an indy (he has owned a porsche/mercedes shop for 35 years) Stuttgart Northeast in Danvers MA. The shop owner Jim does NOT push services. In fact, the last two times I went in, I asked for a brake fluid flush and he did not do it. He said I drive the car so little and it stays in a heated garage, so it really did not need it (in his opinby marbleheader - Main Forum
I have been reading the posts lately about tip failure. I have an 01S with 36,900 miles, the transmission has never been serviced. What should I do? Thank you!by marbleheader - Main Forum
of course that is what is supposed to do. The red light on mine never goes off. Stays on fluttering.by marbleheader - Main Forum
My second Porsche $75 battery maintainer just failed. Is there a lower priced alternative anyone can suggest? With the same feature: light is on while charging, goes off when battery tops off. Thanks much!by marbleheader - Main Forum
You must be right Mike. I am now up to 10% off sticker but man, I am working it! Wish my wife wanted a Cayenne but she really loves the FX35.by marbleheader - Main Forum
My 01S is in winter hibernation and I have been out looking at purchasing two new cars, 2011 wrangler and 2011 FX35. I am in shock at how little I have been getting off the sticker price. Less than 5% off sticker on a new car. Shocking to me as over the years in the past, I have negotiated between 17 to 20% off sticker price. What gives? am I getting to be a bad negotiator in my old age, LOL? Litby marbleheader - Main Forum
