but that could just be the angle of the shot. I really like it! The big air scoops are fantastic, and very CGT ish. The rear spoiler line running from brake light through the wing is very 918 ish. The thick and meaningful metal roll bars are a nice accent. I hope for a Panamera like interior with wide swooping center console. Please put the cup holders where they are not blocking the airby Tnert - Main Forum
If the second child was a girl, and I wanted her to be a stripper, I could have named her Porsche. The real deal was I named the first one and the wife named the second one. Life is just a bunch of compromises.by Tnert - Main Forum
First of all what year / model Boxster are we talking about? I have had my share of clutch issues with similar symptoms; where my clutch grabs 1-2mm off of the floor, and sometimes drags even on the floor making a shift into First at a light difficult. My issues would get worse after warm up. Q1: Does your issue get worse on a warm engine? i.e. after 30min of driving its worse than a cold startby Tnert - Main Forum
Pedro, You can keep the post of STAF President. I put it on my Resume and was a shoe in at McDonalds as fry manager. I still dont like the clear signals on a silver car. It needs the Amber!! The Ferrari people are just as divided on things that are just as silly. Most people swear by Daytona seats and would not own a Ferrari without them. They are a $2K+ option and ARE THE SAME FRIKIN SEATS! Jby Tnert - Main Forum
Oh yes, Porsche Palooza, got some cool pics from that day. There is a good Porsche community in CA, I think its better than FL because there is not much to do in FL, all straight roads, no mountains, etc. I lived in SJC for 3 years, CA has many cool features I miss, mainly the unlimited mountain twisties all of 10min from my house. Lots I like better about FL, mainly no traffic, inexpensive housby Tnert - Main Forum
I still check in from time to time to see if I can help anyone out or if something interesting is in play. I disguised my original screen name so as not to be identified, state and local witness relocation professionals would be jealous of my skills. I did not personally know Chuck, but he was the glue that kept PPBB together. I am very greatful to Pedro for not only continuing the tradition butby Tnert - Main Forum
The CGT was spectacular and still they did not sell very well. Porsche just does not have the brand that can easily sell in the 300K range. It could be the average Porsche buyer income as compared to the average Ferrari buyer income, separated by nearly an order of magnitude. Median income Ferrari: 1M+ (and thats the highest checkbox on the list LOL) Medien income Porsche: 260K (Forbes recentlyby Tnert - Main Forum

thanks for pointing out the BMW 328i, 335i, 528i, MB C300, E Class, I will also add Audi A4, BMW 750i or Li, Cayenne, or most 2008 or older used vehicles. OP: It would be easier if you had provided a bit more information on the use of the car and whats important other than price. i.e. Gas milage because its driven 50 miles / day, must carry 4 adults or 3 adults and one child that thinks they arby Tnert - Main Forum
Pros; 1. Needed a serious refresh. The interior of the 2010 looks cheap and plastic'y compared to the Panarmera. 2. The rims are very nice 3. I like the integrated daytime LEDs 4. Overall a nice new design, but still is 100% recognizable as a 911. 5. Interior looks great, as it should for 100K Cons; 1. No paddles, really! Come on Porsche, most do not like the thump paddles. I am sure real paddleby Tnert - Main Forum
Had a Ferrari 308 spit the ramps to the front of the rear wheels going up on ramps once, and caused visible damage to the underside of the car requiring minor body work and paint. Just use an aluminum floor jack, three or four pumps and you can slide the ramp under. I still use jack stands for safety.by Tnert - Main Forum
You need a new slave anyway, so go ahead and install and power bleed. Then if you have access to a LED illuminated borescope 9as you mention), then use the scope to watch the arm, throwout, and whatever else you can see as someone else puts mild pressure on the clutch pedal. I have not noticed new clutches being much harder than the old ones. If anything they are easier to depress. The pressureby Tnert - Main Forum
Can you confirm if the leak was at the master (front) or slave (rear), just your wording was unclear (to me) I would guess you have an issue inside the transmission / clutch. I agree your slave might have been misaligned, but a BIG might. I have installed the slave about 50 times! I have never had it misaligned, it is a big hole and the piston is quite small. Just remove the slave and check it,by Tnert - Main Forum
Eric, Dont smack your fuel pump assembly. I assume you were joking, if not maybe you should turn the hammer upon yourself The fuel pump and level is one assembly. It is submerged in the bottom of your fuel tank. If you plan on removing the pump, please run your car almost completely out of gas first, then you wont have to go under fuel up to your elbows. Remember most rubber gloves will dissby Tnert - Main Forum
Day late and $1 short but... I have reinstalled my 2.5L ECU and driven the 3.4L conversion short distances. That might have been an option. Under light load its fine, but a few full-throttle runs could damage the engine from running it lean. I did this when my FVD 3.4L ECU failed and had to send it back to germany, and wanted to drive my 3.4L back to its nest. I actually keep the 2.5L ECU in theby Tnert - Main Forum
I would not touch the MAF unless you have MAF issues. Cleaning the throttle body is fine I suppose, but again not needed IMO. Why even clean the area? Nobody can see it. I only clean non-visble engine parts when I have an oil leak or the like, that I need to be able to track down. Its always easier to track down leaks on a clean engine.by Tnert - Main Forum
I rotate through several different sunglasses for many reasons: a. I switch out polarized for non-polerized to relieve eye fatigue on long drives. b. I switch to polarized when I need the benefits; anti-glare, etc. c. I switch to different frames while driving top-down to reduce facial tan lines. d. I switch to match clothing, watch, or more likely my mood. 1. Oakley Oil Rigs : 2 pair to matchby Tnert - Main Forum
I am sorry if I threw you off with my comments on the O2 sensor (in the exhaust system) and the MAF (in the intake system). The MAF + RPM is all the ECU has for WAO [ open loop ] calculations. The O2 + MAF + RPM is used for closed loop. Closed-Loop : Idle, Light Load throttle, constant speeds, etc ================================================ ECU uses: O2 + MAF + RPM (and surely other inputsby Tnert - Main Forum
With an oiled conical filter you have to clean it regularly, or at least more often than the stock airbox/filter. Many PPBBers have reported fixed symptoms after cleaning their MAF with and without conical filters. I do agree you have to be careful whichever way you clean your MAF. Since my MAF almost always has some oil on it, physical contact is needed. Interesting enough I have never heard oby Tnert - Main Forum
When you go for your drive, you could notice funny idling and maybe even a stall or two, this will fix itself as the ECU re-learns the vehicle. This re-learn procedure will not affect your testing because your WAO pulls will be in open loop. If the banging damaged your cat sensor [ from now on lets call that the narrow band O2 sensor ] then the closed loop learn cycle might not complete or mightby Tnert - Main Forum
Skyline, I recommend doing as much information gathering as you can. There are 34.7 places the Boxster engine can leak oil. They range from a $2 fix to a new block. I would recommend buying some engine degreaser (or any degreaser) from your friendly auto parts store. Take both rear tires off, and both wheel well plastics off [ 20-30min of work, not much time ]. Then also open the engine access fby Tnert - Main Forum
*Yes, dont red line your 2.5 until fully warmed up. You could cause a failure at worst and at best premature wear. 1. I usually clean my MAF with a flattened cue tip with clear alcohol. Whatever you use, just be careful. Its the flat film inside the tip of the MAF that needs to be cleaned. The element at the bottom is a thermister, clean it you can, but its not the critical part. The ECU doesby Tnert - Main Forum
Marty, Sorry to hear you are having trouble, the teen years are approaching and can be a difficult and trying time with your 2.5L and more maintenance than normal is probably expected. I have a few questions for you and your little friend: 1. Is the 5500 RPM ceiling the same with load Vs no-load, i.e. with clutch in / neutral revving Vs in 3rd gear WAO? If the two situations have different syby Tnert - Main Forum
