I like it. First--my Boxster was base as base could be. So I'm loving things like heated seats, xenon lights that turn when you corner, and a stereo with bluetooth and ipod integration. Also, I bought the boxster in mid-life crisis mode. I have three kids and was starting to hate having to come home and switch cars for unplanned carpool changes. Up until of last Spring, I owned an '02 986 and frequented this forum--not a very active poster, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading what others had to say and appreciated the help for any questions I had. Well, a hailstorm totalled my car and now my ride is a VW Golf R. In case you don't appreciate this board and the helpfulness of the people here, you should take a look around vwvortex forum's Rby stl986 - Main Forum
I have a set of wheels that I use for winter. Does anyone know the range of model years those wheels would fit?by stl986 - Main Forum
Bruce--thanks...I worked all morning and it looks much better, though not like your car! A pro could make it look like new, but, hey, it was already 7 years old when I got it. I just need it to look not horrible until my kids crash something into it again. and left white scratches from the front wheel well all down the driver's side. The scratches are white in color (the car is red, if that's relevant) and I can feel them when I run my finger nail over the paint. Is it even worth me trying to do something with my orbital polisher and some kind of polish or do I need to let the professionals handle it? Can I make it worse by trying to polish it mby stl986 - Main Forum
I noticed my front wheel was making a high pitched chirping noise a couple blocks from my house. It wasn't dependent on the brakes but on the speed of the rotation, I think. When slowing to a creep, the sound became a loud screeching. By the time I made it back to home, the noise disappeared. I did exchange my own wheels a couple of weekends ago--just in time for the two inches of STL snow anby stl986 - Main Forum
The car worked fine except I had to manually lock and unlock the doors. I pulled the battery from the key and replaced it again, but no luck--the light remained on. Finally, through google I found someone who took the battery out, reinserted it backwards (polarity reversed), pressed a few buttons (I just randomly mashed buttons), and then put it back in correctly. I tried it, and it worked! Hby stl986 - Main Forum
