A few years ago (2001) the wife and I went to Germany to pick up our new Boxster. The only tour we did was the Porsche Grand Tour (offered 2 times annually) at the factory -- check with your dealer. We spent almost a month touring in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Our lodging was done via our timeshare company. Everything else we did by looking at maps and studying guide books. With a little planning you can cram a lot of stuff in them. When the wife and I went to the Parade in Mont Treblant in our '97 we had a whole lot of things. We were on the road for about a month with visiting family and friends. After the Parade we toured eastern Canada (Quebec, PEI, Nova Scotia) and came back to the states via the catamaran ferry to Bar Harbor, ME. Even had my golf clubs andby bgale (Montrose,CO) - Main Forum

Looks great. Reminds me of an old friend of mine years ago that did the same thing but he installed 911 Turbo engine (sans turbo) in his. He used it to tow his 356 race car. He caused quite a stir when he went by you on the highway at 75+ while towing a carby bgale (Montrose,CO) - Main Forum

Glad to hear everything is good with you, your wife and daughter. Now to deal with the joys of parenthood I too had a similar problem with my '02 a few years ago - mine was solved easily. I replaced the battery in the remote and everything was great.by bgale (Montrose,CO) - Main Forum

was a looong wait. While at the Parade in Lake Placid in 1994, my wife said "Why don't you order one?" PAG had just recently announced that they were going to produce the Boxster and she knew I had fallen in love with the concept car. It reminded me so much of the 550 I used to race. When we got home (Virginia), I immediately when to Heismann (now Arlington) and handed over a $100 check to beby bgale (Montrose,CO) - Main Forum
If I go this year I'll probably do the TSD rally and maybe one of the casual drives. I'll probably also judge in the concours (have done so in almost every one since 1983. My recommendation is to go, meet new people; you will make friends from all over the country and possibly elsewhere.by bgale (Montrose,CO) - Main Forum
Don't use salt around here - good old mag chloride. That's if they do anything at all. Would you believe that Montrose, at almost 6000 ft in the Rockies doesn't have any city-owned snow removal equipment? When I lived in VA they had equipment; just didn't know when or how to use it. Sorry Guenter, I used that 4 letter word.by bgale (Montrose,CO) - Main Forum

I was out yesterday again - no top down; it was only 45 deg. My Box did hibernate for almost 4 months though. Oh yes, the elevation here is about 20 feet short of 6,000 ft. Closer to the sun and all that.by bgale (Montrose,CO) - Main Forum
Although the wife and I did spend a little more than a Sunday drive to do it. We were on long weekend jaunt that took in Kitty Hawk and Assoteague(sp?) Island. We didn't even take a Porsche; drove the Audi Quattro instead.by bgale (Montrose,CO) - Main Forum
I actually drove mine on Friday and Saturday. Got up this morning, looked out the window and it's all white again The sun is out so I'll probably be able to get out tomorrow again - assuming no more sn**w later today.by bgale (Montrose,CO) - Main Forum

I have lived in both SoCal (16 years) and the DC metro area (13 years). DC doesn't fix potholes; they put steel plates over them with very large bolt heads sticking up. The biggest problem with I-95 was the amount of traffic on the roads every day; most of the drivers (95%) not having any idea of how to drive. I haven't spent a lot of time in CA recently but my trips haven't found the roads toby bgale (Montrose,CO) - Main Forum

I have had problems in the past (not necessarily the Boxster) with gas pumps acting in that manner. Sometimes it can be solved by turning the handle upside down; or maybe the station has a power problem. It could also be an extremely low level of fuel in the storage tank.by bgale (Montrose,CO) - Main Forum
