The smiley is because there is currently a separate discussion on that topic. I recently had my bumper repaired. It had several pushed in spots from SUVs backing up into me over time as well as gouges, scrapes, and other issues. It was expertly repaired (no need to purchase a new bumper) and it now looks absolutely perfect.by Boxsterra - Main Forum

My standard example is the battery: Car cranks slowly. Owner brings car in to shop. After running some tests, the shop concludes that the battery needs to be replaced. This seems to make sense as the battery is a whopping 4 years old. The shop puts in a new battery, charges $200, and the problem is gone and the customer is happy. It turns out that the problem was a bad connection to the batteryby Boxsterra - Main Forum

AutoHausAz sells just the bushing for $38. You have to press the old one out and the new one in.by Boxsterra - Parts for Sale

The purchase of many plate styles contributes money to a cause of the buyer's choosing. Seems like a good idea to me.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
(Total ballpark estimates here) A 2.5L 986 engine should be under $4K A 3.4L 996 engine should be under $7K $9900 for a 3.2L engine is highway robbery, especially one with no guarantee. I don't know what the current engine prices are but I recommend calling Suncoast or Sunset Porsche and ask them what they have/can get and for how much. It's free to ask.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
I've tried getting those bushings out without destroying them. It would require some sort of tool that can push on about 15 different clips at the same time. I'm sure it's possible with the right tool but I've never seen it.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
I consistently get 30k miles out of front Zimm rotors with hard street driving and OEM pads. With factory pads, the Porsche-approved rotors do not get 90k miles (in fact the Porsche set I had got almost exactly the same mileage as the Zimms) and yet they are more than 3x as expensive.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
For example: Suncoast Porsche sells front rotors for a 1999 Boxster for $255 (http://www.suncoastparts.com/product//2x98635140105.html) AutohausAz sells Zimmerman front rotors for the same car for $80 (http://www.autohausaz.com/search/product.aspx?sid=y54j1u55danpapzkemnjoi45&partnumber=98635140105) Since the latter is less than 1/3 the cost, it is hard to justify the ones from the dealer.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
I doubt it would cost as much as replacing the engine but I suppose that depends on how much you can get an engine for and how many problems you inherit with the replacement engine. I would start with pricing those two options as they will be by far the cheapest. There is no question that buying an LN engine is the most expensive option (their engines start at $15k not including labor). You canby Boxsterra - Main Forum
You just spray it on the back of the backing plates, wait a couple of minutes for it to get tacky (less if you're Gary) and then install the pads as usual. My brakes never squeal and I've reused the same can through at least 8 full brake changes.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
in which case their car is more desirable than average as highway miles are much easier on a car than stop-and-go.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
Many insurance policies have limits for reporting. After that time, your rights change. The same applies to reporting accidents to the police. The dealer is a fine place to get an evaluation. In cases where they don't have the expertise to do a proper estimate, they will farm it out to a shop that they trust. Porsche also will use only OEM parts without being prodded and they usually have a geneby Boxsterra - Main Forum
the robbers could have driven it over the 100k barrier. Well, that would have bothered, me at least.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
Fixing stuff is fun. If you had taken it to the dealer, they would likely have charged you hundreds of $. So as a bonus, you saved a chunk of change.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
Try holding the top button in the close position and pressing the windshield microswitch all the way in and then releasing it. There are two switches in there. Just because the windows dip doesn't mean that both switches are working. When you push the button do you hear any sound? If you hear the relay click then the problem is with the mechanicals and not the electricity. It's possible but unliby Boxsterra - Main Forum

To address the points you bring up: It is by selling products and/or services that you are opening yourself up to scrutiny by the consumers, not by offering a guarantee on your products. A guarantee means that you will make good if your product fails, not that your product won't ever fail.
