I was smitten with the 2016 Spyder, white with carbon trim. I've been driving the same '99 986 since 2004 ... definitely got the itch! That said, the closer my Porsche gets to its 25th birthday, the more I want to keep it ... crazy!! Also, euro delivery in COVID times is a non-starter ... buying my first new Porsche deserves a factory visit!by Indybox - Main Forum
Looking forward to your eval which should also mostly apply to the 718 Boxster T. I think about that car whenever I price out the Spyder on the configurator! Even then, a few options gets my Boxster T to over $90K Cdn! 1999 Forest Green Metallic / Black / Black - (5 speed manual) with snazzy but no-fun-to-clean Sport Classic wheels. PS: Happy Canada Day!by Indybox - Main Forum
17 inch “Sport Classic” wheels shod with Michelin PS2’s. Wheels are original but the car was delivered in ‘99 with Pirelli’s.by Indybox - Main Forum

Had my first 2021 drive today ... really fine weather here in Quebec for early April with temperature in the mid 70's. Sunshine, top down ... doesn't get much better. Car started right up on the first crank after 5 months of hibernation. Looking forward to our 18th season driving this 1999 Boxster! I'm really liking that hat!! Get yours today!by Indybox - Main Forum
Yes, original dual row ball bearing replaced with LN dual row retrofit bearing. I had to take that photo because the late afternoon light was perfect and the car had just been cleaned. I've thought about repainting the front bumper cover but have so far resisted messing with the original paint. Thinking about ordering a Forest Green Metalic Dr. Colorchip kit.by Indybox - Main Forum
I had the LN IMS Retrofit Kit installed in August 2010 at 67297 miles after having acquired my '99 in January 2004 at 45947 miles. So far so good ... touch wood ... currently at 95246 miles. I was moving back to Canada in 2011 so I wanted this peace of mind modification done before the move as I was hoping to keep the car for as long as possible. The original bearing was OK when removed but no grby Indybox - Main Forum
Minus 20 C or four below 0 F ... too frosty for the Boxster in Montreal today! Only 36 days until spring!by Indybox - Main Forum
Wow ... that was a close one ... glad you're "OK". Maybe the racing gods at Sebring are trying to tell you something? That reminds me of one of my favorite Herman cartoons where a fella is in hospital. He's in bed covered with bandages from head to toe and has multiple pulleys supporting various limbs. The nurse and doctor are bedside discussing his case and the doc says "He claims bull fightingby Indybox - Main Forum
My Forest Green Metallic bumper plugs look as good as new after the better part of 17 years of service on my 1999 Boxster! Great product!!by Indybox - Main Forum
I'm going with the "Production Date" shown on service invoices from the dealership that first delivered the car. In my case, that's July 7th, 1999.by Indybox - Main Forum
Another PBX hat arrived today in Canada ... thanks Pedro. Photo provided a perfect excuse to peek under the winter cover during this long cold dark pandemic winter. Can't wait for spring and my first top down cruise with the new orange lid! I think this hat will be perfect for next autumn's leaf run in the Quebec Laurentians!by Indybox - Main Forum

$108K here in Canada! Another link to Porsche with a video about the history of the car. Porsche Museum Heritage Talk with Grant Larson and Horst Marchart: Boxster 25 years. Towards the end in the Q&A, Grant and Horst are asked which Boxster they would choose today and both said they'd pick the original version (986)! Grant also has a soft spot for the 987 Spyder.by Indybox - Main Forum
Just placed my order for a festive orange 10th anniversary hat! Happy to help out with a worthy cause during these difficult times. Thanks Pedro. This one is headed to the Montreal area at 45º 27' 35" N.by Indybox - Main Forum
I've been warming up to the colour Chalk for a while now. I suppose that seeing this Spyder at my dealer earlier this summer helped in this regard! Congrats on the GTS 4.0 ... she's a beauty!by Indybox - Main Forum
- What Porsche first caught your eye? Probably a Le mans racer back in the 70's. - What was your first drive in a Porsche like? Some thirty years ago, I was visiting Calgary for work and I was given an opportunity to drive a red 911 ('70's vintage?) at lunch. I still remember well the acceleration, the sound and the ear to ear grin that I had for the rest of that afternoon! - Have you done any spby Indybox - 10 years of PB

What a weekend indeed ... we've been having a fantastic run of great weather here in Quebec as well. Took a nice sunset snap on Saturday the 7th ... one of my last rides for 2020. Front view of the car with reflections was taken two days later, just before I pulled it into the garage for 6 months of hibernation. Only 128 days until spring ... but who's counting eh!by Indybox - Main Forum
I've also been watching that commercial lately here in Quebec on CNN ... too bad they couldn't sneak a Boxster into the background! My '99 just had its year-end pre-hibernation service and usually I would store the car in the garage now but we're having some really nice weather so might have to have one more run before the long cold dark. My oil change was good ... just a few tiny bits of chainby Indybox - Main Forum
My Boxster has her annual year-end service two weeks today. Forecast for southern Quebec this Friday is for 20 C and a little sunshine ahead of a cold front ... might be our last run for the 2020 season. Single digit temps the week after. Only 152 days until spring! Photo taken on our leaf run September 27th in the Laurentian mountains.by Indybox - Main Forum
Thanks Pedro! And ... how about those nearly new Michelin PS2's! Already looking ahead to 2021 ... wondering if we might return to Indiana for the next PCA Parade. We really enjoyed 2015 ... especially since we got to visit with all our friends in the Hoosier state. Great memories from our 11 years there which included acquiring our first Porsche (Forest Green '99 Boxster) back in 2004. And to thby Indybox - Main Forum
More autumn colours ... this photo was taken in the Laurentian mountains north of Montreal about two weeks ago. The colours were really popping this year on our annual fall leaf run!by Indybox - Main Forum
My 1999 Boxster celebrated her 21st birthday at 151206 km (93955 miles) back on July 7th so she was treated to a new set of Michelin PS2's, rads/condensers finally cleaned and aircon repair (refrigerant top up and leak check). Woo-hoo!by Indybox - Main Forum
Looking for examples of brake caliper colours other than the usual suspects is like trying to find hen's teeth. Then I came across this Black Chrome ll colour from Prismatic Powders ... it has a gun metal blue/grey appearance that looks good with the red Porsche lettering. Something like that might work with your wheels?by Indybox - Main Forum
That's great work! Driving after all that effort will be all the sweeter! And how about that stiff Boxster chassis ... almost looks as though it only takes one Quick-Jack on the port side to raise the whole car! Into every Boxster's life a little rain must fall ! Managed to get caught in a heavy spring downpour a few days ago. The upside to not having purchased a Spyder ... one latch, one buttoby Indybox - Main Forum

That would be very cool! Post-it note reminder on the dash?by Indybox - Main Forum
Boxster 2020 excursion #3 today ... a little on the cool side with the top down, partial overcast and temp 60 F. Odometer rolled through 150000 km's (93205 miles) and I managed to remember to take a snap. Next "event" ... her 21st birthday on July 7th! Still thinking that a new set of PS2's would be appropriate for that anniversary. Better still, would be nice if I could send the car to Porschby Indybox - Main Forum
