This was my last track event at VIR a few weeks ago. My first trip out of the flat track @ Sebring and the banks @ Homestead. It was exciting to have a blind drop off after the first up hill and a 100 ft drop off at the end of the back straight. I'm going to Road Atlanta this fall. I love a new challenge. Enjoy my one lap at VIR.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum
As long as we are talking about DE's, I might as well add mine to the story. Now living in FL and doing track events is so much fun; but, all the tracks are flat down here. So, I have started my bucket list of tracks I need to drive on. The first was VIR which is rated in the top five road courses in the US. It is very smooth and had hills. I went to VIR just a few weeks ago. What a blast.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum
I have the extension plate for sale; but, you will also need the Rennline gas pedal to go with it. The extension is $20 + shipping. It was from my 997.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum
mail a few days ago an invite to local dealer to review the car. I don't think they are offering for me to test drive the car or I would be there in a heat beat.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum

I'm glad it wasn't a Caymanby Harvey in FL - Main Forum
I have to change tires anyway for track time. I have tied the senors wires back out of the way with electric wire ties which Pedro taught me.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum
QuotePedro (Weston, FL) Now I just need $100,000! Happy Wishing Pedro You have said, "The next car I would be buying is a Cayman". So, are you now saying it would be a Boxster and if so, I will not believe anything you say to me in the future.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum
here in FL. We are having lunch together tomorrow. I have been driving a manual tranny for about >< 55 years and have never owned a automatic tranny. That is, until now. I have been tracking cars for the past four years and purchased a Cayman S with PDK last fall. I wanted to take the heal and toe (was actually smother with each track event), out the equation to concentrate more on breby Harvey in FL - Main Forum
QuoteBruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) I have them boxed and sitting in my car... I was late for the post office Saturday. Peace Bruce in Philly I will look for his business card and send you a PM.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum
about prices to ceramic coating the tips. I paid $40 for the tips in the pic above; but, that was 6 years ago. The place probably now charges $45.23.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum
There were two shops next to each other in MD...one powder coating and the other ceramic coating. The powder guy said to do ceramic. The ceramic guy said "you arrived at the right place". On my Cayman it's a pain to remove from the car because they not separate from the exhaust pipe. So, I'm going to do it on the car with very high temp paint. Here are mine from my 997:by Harvey in FL - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario One thing to keep in mind is the 7:40 time is a computer generated estimate, so the actual time could be a bit faster or slower. Andreas did state, the Ring won't be open foe testing until April or even May. Yes, you are correct. I also did not show all the times at the ring, mainly Porsche's. The GT4 @ 7:40 would be tie in 53 place.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum

it came in at less than $95K. Now all I have to do is wait for the PDK option. That's cheap for some one who wants track performance. BTW: $0 to drop AC, $0 to drop radio.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario Maybe it's just the lighting, but it looks like it's covered. No, It's the lighting. The 2015 Cayman has a different center cover than the 2014's. The cover has ridges, more curved and open on both sides to force more air to enter the side radiator's. You can tell by looking at the grass showing on the right side of the cover. BTW: are you coming to Sarasota area thisby Harvey in FL - Main Forum
My S is just as fast as a "R" and that's why Pedro was confused. Had it weighted at Sebring and it came in just a tad over 3K @ 3,035 lbs. And yes, the GT$ will be a detuned 3.8 ltr with 380 hp and a 6-speed with dual-mass flywheel and self-adjusting clutch tranny only (for now) to compete in the European GT class races with an estimates starting price of $89,990.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum
The PCA Suncoast Region publishes a monthly magazine called "Profile". The below article was written by me and is appearing in the January 2015 issue. I thought y'all would like to read my experience while taking a potty break. Just print it out and enjoy reading it. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________by Harvey in FL - Main Forum
learn how to get out of an understeering situation in a snow filled parking lot. Can't do it down here as it's 80 degrees and sunny. Heading south to Homestead for a DE in 4 weeks. I guess that's much better than doing donuts in the snow.by Harvey in FL - Main Forum
QuoteGary in SoFL QuoteHarvey in FL QuoteGary in SoFL Rumor has it, there will be a couple of them at BRBS this year Gary, so you are going to bring your Forester also to BRBS? Ya never know Actually, I'm hoping to check out a Macan or two at BRBS. I while back, Porsche announced that since there was a 4 to 6 month wait for the Macan, Porsche would lease a new Boxster or Cayman on a monthby Harvey in FL - Main Forum
