Quotemikefocke, '01S Sanford, NC was an American Motors mid-50s Rambler with the reclining seats option...thanks Dad. Girlfriend in high school parents had a Rambler with those seats. If I felt lucky when I'd pick her up I pulled the coil wire on my car so it wouldn't start and she would always ask her folks if we could use their car. Sweeeeeet.by Wayne K - Main Forum
QuoteGary in SoFL I had one of them, and bad is too kind a word. A six cylinder that couldn't get out of it's own way, BUT lots of front seat room back seat and truck too.by Wayne K - Main Forum
" spectators are more insane than the driver " . I have to agree. You wouldn't find me standing that close to the action. Reminded me of something you'd see in Europe.by Wayne K - Main Forum
That would be a shame. For me a manual transmission is part of the pleasure of the driving experience.by Wayne K - Main Forum
From a driving experience 6 gears is already overkill in my opinion. I have 4 cars, two have 5 speeds and two have 6 speeds. Any kind of spirited driving only involves the first 4 gears with any of them. I also do some skip shifting with all of them but mostly with the 6 speeds. I prefer the 5 speeds over the 6 speeds and I wouldn't be excited about having to buy a car with 7 speeds.by Wayne K - Main Forum
Those mirrors are hideous. I wouldn't buy one because them.by Wayne K - Main Forum

Did you notice that dude riding shotgun was still holding up the roof after the impact. Nerves of steel, he never flinched.by Wayne K - Main Forum
The Wurth product mentioned is great stuff and if you get the right spot it should do the fix. I get a squeak whenever that little felt pad on the backside of the plastic piece where the seat back connects to the seat bottom gets out of position(outboard side of seat). I push it such that the plastic is clear of any moving parts and the squeak is gone. Just another place to look. This is on mby Wayne K - Main Forum

Both tucked away for the winter. Has been below zero every night for the past week with 15" of snow most places. Winter hasn't arrived yet. Going to be a longggggg wait until spring.by Wayne K - Main Forum
QuoteDave In MD late 70s who put a chevy 350 into one. I must say I never really got the "why" he did that. Maybe reliability and usability as a DD. I also had a friend that had a 63 XKE that put a small block Chevy in it because the original would have been more costly to rebuild. If I recall correctly the Chevy setup weighed less and positioned the weight farther back and lower. I remembeby Wayne K - Main Forum
Quotedennisafrompa ...rude and crude. It rumbles nicely. I'll do a cross country with it this winter. At least it's not a truck.:-) Ford got the sound right on these cars. Here is my daily driver that sounds just like yours.by Wayne K - Main Forum
QuoteJFP in PA Extremely poor UoA’s, inability to “stay in grade” (advertised weights) after low miles, etc………….. You are much better off with either a 5W or 10W-40 product, preferably not one from Mobil 1…… I would like your mileage recommendation for changing oil when using Porsche recommended Mobil 1 0w40. Mileage is 80% highway. Car is always driven minimum 20minutes.by Wayne K - Main Forum

The best part is that if a person has to go to the carpet to get the performance they want out of the smaller engines then there goes the fuel savings. How many people do you know that buy a sporty car and drive it to get the best fuel economy? I say buy the highest HP fuel powered car today that you will be happy owning for a long time because you may not be able to find another like it 10-15by Wayne K - Main Forum
