To deploy you depress the up side of the rocker switch on the fusebox. To retract you need to depress the down side of the same switch but you need to hold for a few seconds. Happy Boxstering Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
... Could be material fatigue (it is a 10 year old car). An imbalance in the crank could also cause it but the engine would vibrate most likely. You should visually check it to make sure. Haply Boxstering Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
... just above that spot, in the center of the engine, is the crankshaft pulley which also has a seal similar to the RMS, although smaller. It's not very common, but they can also leak. That one, contrary to the RMS is much easier to see by removing the firewall behind the seats and then the main pulley. Happy Boxstering, Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
... had a recall in 1999. There had been a couple of crashes in Germany (and reportedly also Stateside) and Audi recalled the model. They made some suspension mods and also added a rear spoiler during the recall, but then became standard in all of the TTs. Contrary to a wing that requires area to create lift (the bigger the wing surface, the bigger the lift), the spoiler only has to create enoughby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
... if you take it to the track with the spoiler disabled (fuse removed) you will certainly see how big an IMPACT there is! The name says it all. It spoils the air flow over the car that would otherwise create lift. Porsche claims that it spoils over 100 lbs. of lift. The spoiler does not produce downforce. Only wings with airfoils can do that. (sorry Guenter). I have actually tested it at Sby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
... #1.- this is the way of the future: The Nanny State, The Nanny Car, The Nanny (whatever). Mercedes Benz can now apply the brakes for you when it thinks that you're not paying attention. Porsche thinks that there is ICE on the track, so your brakes don't work (only 25%). I'd think that it would be easy to not engage this feature when the ambient temperature is above 40 degrees. #2.- wheneby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum
... I've always thought that the Boxster/Cayman got shortchanged by Porsche in various topics but in particular in the gauge department when compared with the 911. So, I decided to remedy one of those shortcomings. ... but you never know. I don't believe in coincidences. When dropping the tranny the intake tube could have been dislodged. If the car ran well before visiting the shop and he didn't put any bad gas in it, something could have been changed while there. Happy Boxstering, Pedroby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum

... there was a coolant leak up front, that can only mean that either a radiator or it's associated hoses is the culprit. When coolant leaks out it also means that air leaks in. When air is present in the system, eventually it will dump a lot of coolant from the vent valve in front of the right rear tire. I would recommend you put some pressure into the system to find the leak. Once found, fiby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Main Forum

I replaced the tranny fluid at 90,000, 150,000 and 200,000 miles and the tranny is still original and with no issues. My car is now at 211,000 miles. QuoteLarry G I have a 04 550 SE what are the positive and negative of installing the under drive pulley? Any brand better than another? Is this a do it your self project or a mechanic? ... more than 60% of our registered vehicles were rental cars, meaning that they were less than 2 years old. ... underdrive pulleys you need to grind down the engine marker. To install you need to first remove the poly-ribbed belt, then loosen the main nut (generally the pulleys come with a pulley tool to hold them in place as the nut is loosened). Once the pulley is out, you'll need to grind down the marker (best if you use an electric grinder). Finally, reinstall the new underdrive pulley and belt. Deby Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Parts for Sale
