Hi Phil, sorry about your car. I live about 1 mile from Euro Perf and have used them for the past 10 years or so. I do everything I can, and they do the rest. Marc is an extremely experienced and well connected guy. What he is not is a discount repair shop. I think that his labor rate is about the same as the dealer. I use him because I trust him to do the job right and frankly, because heby SMILIN - Main Forum

Trygve, if I were to ever strip my Boxster, I'd certainly remove the delicate, heavy, stylish full leather dash and replace it with a rugged, light, utilitarian basketball-finish plastic dash!by SMILIN - Main Forum
A friend just bought a 2006 Lotus Elise, and let me drive it last night. My first impression is that I'm going to need to practice yoga if I want to get in and out of the thing without further injury. SMALL, LIGHT and FUN sum it up pretty well. Did I say LIGHT? Very firm stock suspension - I drove over the reflectors separating lanes and it felt like I was running over cats (oh, how I wish)..by SMILIN - Main Forum
I share your worries. And unfortunately, it's from experience. My strategy (should I really have to have a strategy, or should I just expect people to do their job correctly, and well?!) has only been marginally successful, but here it is. 1. I buy my tires from the same shop that is going to mount them. 2. I buy from the manager (there are usually 12-20 "managers" per shop, it seems ) 3. I maby SMILIN - Main Forum
Two very common issues are worn wheel bearings and bad motor mount. If your sound doesn't seem proportional to wheel rotation, I'd check the motor mount next.by SMILIN - Main Forum

117k on mine. I usually have the radio on and don't regularly listen for irregular car noises, but since I've noticed this sound, there's nothing I can do to not hear it, and it's driving me crazy! My sound is very much like an out of balance wheel, but i hear the sound even with a different wheel and there are no vibrations. The sound is sort of a wa wa wa wa that is proportional to the speedby SMILIN - Main Forum

With all of the football excitement yesterday, I forgot my anniversary. 14 years (only 115k mi) and I too still look back at the car and think how beautiful she is and how lucky i am, every time!by SMILIN - Main Forum
i know, i know, that's your car, right there...the one with the top down.by SMILIN - Main Forum

I'm going to have to see it in person. From looking at the pics, I love it, I hate it, then I love it again. The thing that I most dislike about the exterior are the headlights! I don't care for the shape and they appear to not be flush with the body panel...there's sort of a bump above the lines of the metal. It's certainly different from my '98, which I still love. I look forward to seeing tby SMILIN - Main Forum
My '98 is running as good as new, and looking good too. And now with MY INCREDIBLY AWESOME retrofit heated seats working, I may never be able to convince myself to buy the Cayman RS, Cayman GTS, Cayman XYZ, or whatever floats my boat. 100+ club.by SMILIN - Main Forum
The RE960 is what i just replaced on my BMW. It was a great tire...reasonable wear, very nice dry traction and handling. Never really tested them in the wet, but assume being an AS that they were good there too. I went with the Michelin's simply due to my preference for the PS2's which I've driven on the street and autocross and understand and like them.by SMILIN - Main Forum
I just put the Pilot Super Sports (17 in.) on my 2002 325i. They look the same and initially feel as good as the PS2's on my Boxster. The marketing line is that they're improved versions of the PS2s, but I haven't yet verified that. I've tried many tires on my Boxster and have settled on sticking with what I like, regardless of price, and I love the PS2s. I haven't tried the Continentals...wiby SMILIN - Main Forum
I'm excited and a bit relieved to report that I'm done and everything seems to be working. Woo hoo!!! I decided to spare you all and not pose like the gal in the picture that Gary posted. I'm happy that my seats are now heated - I will enjoy it - but, it was a lot of work, especially considering that my seats were already prepared (harness and relay in place). I probably spent about 10 hoby SMILIN - Main Forum
I suggest that you redirect funds set aside for an Austin vacation in late 2012 and put them into the best darn lift you can get for your space. You know you'll use the heck out of it...not just for maintenance and repair, but for cleaning the underside of your carby SMILIN - Main Forum
I've got the two most intimidating connections remaining...the fuse and relay...I hope to have some time on Sunday to finish the job. Then I'll take a picture for y'all.by SMILIN - Main Forum
The project is nicely detailed here:by SMILIN - Main Forum
I've completed running all of the wires and reassembling the interior. Not really difficult, just tedious. I estimate it took about 4 hours to do what I consider to be a perfect job. I've got a bundle of wires ending under each seat, at the fuse box and at the switches. I'm going to rest for a few days so my body can recover from the various yoga-like poses required to run the wires under theby SMILIN - Main Forum
I'll certainly post an update when complete. Anything in particular you want to know? I plan to follow the instructions at the link in the original post. Warm buns, a fried electrical system, a small fire...I'm thinking that one of those will be the result.by SMILIN - Main Forum
I bought a set of used seats to replace my dried out and worn original seats. As a bonus, the new-to-me seats have heating elements - woo hoo. I'm referring to Dennis Vogel's excellent instructions and am about ready to run the wiring. I know nothing about automotive electrical, but with the detailed instructions, some patience and some confidence knowing that you all can help get me out of mostby SMILIN - Main Forum
