Three-day Hybrid Conversion for 911by db997S - Main Forum
Yeah, looks like a Civic Si fell from the sky and landed on a beautiful Miami Blue Boxster.by db997S - Main Forum
I'm in the 2010 camp. In 2009, they designed the IMS out of the engine, but that year, only the 911s got Direct Fuel Injection. In 2010, Boxsters also got DFI. Plus, Porsche was still independent, so not a VW.by db997S - Main Forum
Yup. At least with an all electric, the weight of the combustion engine and transmission are eliminated to help offset battery weight. Well, except for Porsche who is going to have a two-speed transmission in the Taycan?by db997S - Main Forum

Sign me up. Maybe even spring for the Mexico Blue. Just have to make sure my future Beach condo retirement home will have plug-in option.by db997S - Main Forum
Be nice to drop the turbo 4 into the entry-level car and put the NA flat six back in the Boxster A boy can dream.by db997S - Main Forum

My wife is on her third Prius. It's her dream car. Doesn't want to drive something expensive and she likes being green (gave up straws well before it became a thing). She never liked driving any of my P-cars. Thing I like most about driving her Prius is playing the game of getting the best MPG out of it. It's the only thing that makes it engaging. One day, I may go for a plug-in Hybrid P-caby db997S - Main Forum

I'm in the DC metro area, so used Porsche of Arlington, which is close to my house and provides a shuttle to the metro stop or loaner vehicles. All the independents are farther away, so I pay extra for that convenience. Been using Porsche of Arlington since 1998. Trying to recall my first Boxster. Don't think it even had limited slip. So, yeah, 20 years is huge in terms of technology and nanby db997S - Main Forum
I just got mine back from it's 10-year service. Wow, it felt old when I got back in it after spending five days in a loaner Macan. Plus, my wife just got a 2020 Prius at the end of the year. What a difference a decade makes in cars. But, then glad I quickly got that old feeling back. Was in the shop 3 business days, plus a weekend. In addition to 10-year service, ended up having a screw inby db997S - Main Forum
depends. A Targa in Miami Blue looks awesome with that aluminum band and black roof. I'm also very partial to my Aqua Blue 997S Cab, but that could simply be a bias. It's bright without being electric or in your face. Looks really good when washed and polished. Even though dark, hides the dirt pretty well.by db997S - Main Forum
My brother flew into town so we could visit our dad, who is in a memory care facility. After the visit my brother and I went to a concert. It was a nice day, so I drove the Porsche. Hung in the parking lot, top down, music playing, and cooler full of beer in the frunck. The good, several people came up to chat about the car, music, etc., but it was the car that drew them over in the first pby db997S - Main Forum
Not sure if they are as bad as the Honda S2000, but that four banger certainly didn't last long. The Porsche blown-4s are cheaper than the N/A-6s, right? heheheheheheheby db997S - Main Forum
Yeah, Porsche cut production on Boxster/Cayman and they don't have much in the way of new inventory. I found that in 2009 when I was looking. That's why I got my 911S Cab. Markup (aka, profit margin) is so huge on the SUVs and 911s that they tend to produce more and can afford to have them sitting on the lot. Plus, with the transition to the new model year, Porsche probably stopped productionby db997S - Main Forum
Looks like Tesla is stirring up some controversy on lap times at Nuremberg. They are trying to have the Model S beat Taycan's lap time, which they did, but Tesla put on semi-slicks and supposedly stripped out the car's interior to do so. It's getting so chippy out there, that track officials are going to try and crack down on cars that try and "cheat" on their times. Porsche reportedly used aby db997S - Main Forum
Long-time cooperation. I can remember back in the early 70s, the rap on the 914 four cylinder was that it was a VW. Think some of the 924s had bunch of Audi parts, too.by db997S - Main Forum

i think people were expecting it to be a derivative of a pepper because it was a baby Cayenne. They pulled the tiger thing out of left field on the pundits.by db997S - Main Forum
Hyundai already has the Volster. They are on animal names now--Macun and Taycan. So, they'd give it a completely different, weird sounding animal name that plays well in the Asian markets.by db997S - Main Forum
There is not enough space in Boxster/Cayman for hybrid technology. The 911 will more than likely go hybrid. So, the Boxster/Cayman may either go pure electric or stay combustion with Porsche creating a separate line of pure electric vehicles--sport, sedan and SUV. Tesla is launching a roadster. If Porsche is to compete with electric, then they'll have to offer all lines in pure electric modeby db997S - Main Forum
Tesla performance mode only gets the car so far before it shuts down from overheating. Taycan ripped off about 10 straight 0-60 runs and was still going strong. Tesla can accomplish I believe three before it shut down that mode.by db997S - Main Forum
