New guess for Boxster S manual transmission highway mpg
Laz - Monday, 5 March, 2012, at 8:35:04 am
As of this posting, it seems Porsche hasn't released the US fuel consumption figures for the new Boxster. The following concerns only the 2013 Boxster S with manual transmission.

Porsche's German site states 6.9 liters per 100 km as the Euro highway figure, assuming that "Außerorts" indicates highway consumption.
This converts to approximately 34 mpg.
As the US and Europe use different drive cycle methods for determining fuel consumption, the difference was determined by comparing a similarly-powered car; the 2012 Cayman S US and European figures.
A "factor" of fuel consumption between the US and Europe was then determined. (.82647)
Applying this to 34 mpg yields approximately 28 mpg.
Porsche claims an up to 15% improvement from the 987, but that would be due to PDK's overdrive top gear and its coasting function. My numbers yield +8% for the 6-speed manual.

If anyone cares to check the process (and my 'rithmatic) used, here it is:

1 liters = 0.264172052 US gallons
6.9 liters = 1.8227868 gallons / 100km
1 kilometer = 0.621371192 miles
100km = 62.1371192 miles / 1.8227868 gallons =
34.0890767 mpg

old cayman s = 7.2 l/100km euro hwy or 27 mpg hwy us
7.2 liters = 1.902 gallons per 62.1371192 miles = 32.669 mpg
27/32.669 = .82647 x 34.0890767 = 28.1736525
estimated US hwy mpg for 2013 Boxster S = 28 mpg
2012 = 26. Improvement = 8%
This was a bit more fun than crossword puzzles. *NM*

Minus 40 degrees... Is that Fahrenheit or Celsius?

Meaning mine? Hoping for delivery by the end of June.

We've all read articles that say something like, "This 356A was one of only four cars produced by the factory with this configuration, and has now become much sought after."
And as it's been mentioned, the car will be, knock on wood, less prone to casual theft.
