electrical glitch 2005 Boxster S

When my day running lights are on and I use the signal light my cluster lights go out.The cluster lights then come back on a few seconds after the signal turn lever is back to the nutural position. The same thing happens if I use the four way emergency flashers. When I turn on the full lighting system though every thing is normal. Any suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks
