I think it's dopey too, but I'm not sure Porsche expects people who really like its cars to watch the ads. The only commercial I can recall from the past was an equally dumb one with Patrick Stewart with paint on his nose because Porsche was trying to promote its variety of colors. I think Porsches are bought by people who love them or aspire to them already and so,as is the case with Rolex, TV ads are kind of amusing but that's it.
