Gas Prices in Your Area
babamoto - Tuesday, 22 February, 2011, at 4:14:23 am
Dear Boxster Friends:
I'm wondering what you guys are paying for premium fuel in your neck of the woods and if the price trend is up or down.
I've found when I've asked this question before, gas prices in Oklahoma City reflect what my price in L.A. will be in two weeks or so.
That's why I'm asking.
So.... whatchu guys payin'?

Stop braggin' about your cheap gas. eye rolling smiley winking smiley

This morning it was $4.35 a gallon for 87 octane and $4.92 a gallon for 94 octane here in Ontario. That's with the Canadian dollar almost on par with the US$. It's been hovering around that mark for the past couple of weeks, but the trend has been upward (about $0.30/gal since end of November).
Guenter, what gallon are you talking about?
Alberta Alex - Tuesday, 22 February, 2011, at 2:24:10 pm
Imperial gallon (4.546 L/gallon) or the US gallon (3.7854 L/gallon).

Today I think we are paying about $1.15/L or $4.35/US gallon, and we're the place that has all of the oil that is the feedstock for gasoline.

Yup, you've got it Alex. I'm talking about US gallons (Hey, the Brits know how to make BIG gallons winking smiley ). That's where we're at in southern Ontario. $1.15/L for regular (97 octane)

You apparently don't understand economics. It's way cheaper to ship oil to Southern Ontario (because we're so much further south) Than to Calgary from Alberta. winking smiley

Death Valley and Gorda (Big Sur)
EdSac - Tuesday, 22 February, 2011, at 12:39:26 pm
Even worse than the prices in Death Valley where Pedro was, is Gorda at the south end of 1, Big Sur. I just checked and Wikipedia verified, and I've heard it from other sources, that Gorda has the highest prices in the '48. (Parenthetically. there may be places off paved roads or high in the mountains like Kennedy Meadows in the south Sierra that may be higher seasonally).

So, when you drive the beautiful 1, gas up in either San Luis Obispo at the south end, or Monterey at the north end, or you'll be really shocked.

Amazing how fast future oil prices immediately get passed on at the pump before the oil is even shipped or refined.
Funny how decreases in oil prices don't work the same way at the pump.
Of course the oil companies will be two stepping about yet another historic quarter of multi billion dollar record profits when 1QR results get released in April.
Boxster content-when I bought my 97 Boxster it used to cost $20 to fill it up, now it costs about $50.

Sheesh. And that's California with 91 MON/RON maximum, yes?
Laz - Thursday, 3 March, 2011, at 4:43:19 pm
93 is likely a lot cheaper in New Joisey, but that'd be a loooong drive.

Minus 40 degrees... Is that Fahrenheit or Celsius?
