Hello pedro , I came across your youtube video on wired noises explained.
I am new to owning a Porsche, I recently purchased a very clean very beautiful 2018 Panamera turbo executive, with only 13k miles,I've had it for roughly 7 months, car runs awesome, although I noticed a whining noise from the rear part of the engine, the winning noise pulses or comes and goes mainly at idle, at first it was not as frequent, I took it to Porsche to check it out , but they couldn't get replicate the whine noise so they said to just monitor it as there was nothing they could do since they ran a multipoint inspection and found no problems. Recently the whine has become more consistent, as well as more noticeable and longer periods of the actual noise while its happening,
If anybody has had this issue or knows what it is or can suggest where to take it to, I would highly appreciated the help
... where most of our members are more of the Sportscar persuasion rather than the Sedans but maybe one of them has a Panamera or has heard of this issue.
I have not, so I'm afraid I'm not able to help much with this noise.
Generally whines come from gears, so think transmission/transfer case.
But since you hear the whine at idle, without moving, I would discard the transfer case and look into the PDK and its dual clutches.
When I was actively wrenching I had a set of microphones that I could strategically place in suspected places to try to record some difficult sounds and be able to diagnose the problem.
As your dealer if they have such diagnostic devices, if not maybe it's time to look for a quality independent shop.
Happy Porsche'ing,
Pedro
