Played hooky and Joanie & I took a drive up Skyline today. We had lunch at Alice's Restaurant, stopped by Yerba Buena Nursery and Thomas Fogarty Winery. Beautiful day!

I'm not an F-Car expert, but I believe this is an 458 Italia

I'm sorry to say it, but the Ferrari makes our Boxsters look very frumpish. Mind you, they should, considering the cost!!!

I'll duck for cover now, but I'll stand by my observation.....
Boxsters are beautiful in a Bauhausian way,

but the very name "Italia" is so apt for a car that embodies the pulchritude of its namesake. If Michelangelo were around to design a car...
I believe the Italia is Ferrari's most beautiful visual statement since the original Dino. Not to knock the California, but the Italia has a resolution of line that the former doesn't.

There must have been some event, because I actually saw 2 458s on the drive. Amazing sound!
Those 458s are about as fast as an Enzo......

I would not take one on and yes they sound sexy even missing one tail pipe.

Funny thing was seeing the Italia acquitting itself well around the track, but a guy with what looked like an ex-police Crown Vic kept trading places with him on many laps. The guy with the Ferrari, (a gracious gentleman) had power and caution, and the Detroit Iron beater guy just flailed away... Caution is right. The 458 has 562hp and is as fast around the Ferrari test track as an Enzo..The cost is about $250,000 and there is a several year waiting list for them. Many less cautious owners have crashed their Ferraris on the track. There is a saying that every time someone totals an Enzo the price goes up.
These 458s will be great used cars in about eight years.
