Tire Rack: Revolutionizing tire buying since 1979.

Expect the best, and accept no substitute.
Basically, an older designed 911 from an early 90s 911, which is 400 lbs lighter due to the carbon-fiber shell replacing all the steel, but with today's technology (including Xeon headlights with the look of a 1970s P-car). The air cooled, yes, air cooled, engines are reworked to pump out anywhere from 300 to 425 hp, depending on what the customer is looking for in the car. He replaces the five speed manual with a six-speed manual. Cosworth Group out in CA, known for racing engines, does the work for the Singer Vehicle Design of Los Angeles. The 0-60 time is supposedly 3.8 seconds.

You may not need to buy that ticket, as Singer hopes that he produces more and more of these cars, the price will go down.
Great attention to detail, but ...

Racecar spelled backwards is Racecar

"Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting" ... Steve McQueen as Michael Delaney in "LeMans"

"If you wait, all that happens is that you get older"... Mario Andretti

"Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose" ... Ayrton Senna
that's really nice. ain't cheap though. *NM*

I've always thought the 993 was the best looking 911. If I could get a 993 with all the modern features and accessories (PSM, PDK, latest navigation, side air bags, etc...) that would be my next Porsche.
I agree with your thoughts on the 993. I love that body style. The Singer car is a brilliant execution of a classic car.
The Singer is a 964

I'm not sure if you guys are implying that the singer is a 993 or just stating that you like the 993. I love the 993 best of all 911s as well. The singer is a 964 though.

I like the concept of taking an older discontinued model and bringing it up to modern standards while keeping the same look. The best would be the 993.
I had a 1971 911T Targa for 25 years. Bought it for $7200 used. Don't ask how much I put into it.

The Singer makes me nostalgic.
And I love the smell of hypoy gear oil in the morning.

I have seen the green one a couple of times. It is a work of art. The engine in that one is built by a UK Porsche specialist. When I first saw it they were in to it for $450.000. Not for the faint of heart. The shop I saw it in has on hand right now a RUF roadster. Again, if you have to ask. The one I have seen has a twin turbo putting out god knows how much. It also has a flat pearl metallic paint job. Very cool.

The founder of the company, Rob Dickinson, is the former singer/songwriter for the '90's alternative rock band Catherine Wheel and is an Absolutely Certified 911 Nut. Thus the name "Singer".

He had a solo album about 4 years ago called Fresh Water for Horses. At the end of one of the tracks you hear an air-cooled 911 going through the gears, then coming to a stop and shutting off.

I chuckled when I first heard it; it is a very nice touch to the song!

Regards,

How do they meet smog test with an air-cooled engine?

Are they exempt due to low volume?
