Anyone had a rattle near the wheel well. Just had the rear struts replaced and that didn't do it. When you drive over the center divider markers it rattles like crazy. Anyone??
Probably a heat shield

Stefan, I have had this for over a year. I have tapped and wiggled the exhaust heat shields but they don't seem loose. What should I look for and where?

Thanks,

Al
Passenger seat perhaps.

Noises could emanate from the hinge area. Further up, does it rub against the roll bar grill?
There are basically 4 main exhaust heat shields

On each side there is one over the cat and one just forward of the car (surrounding the pipe). I find that if you use a rubber mallet and hit the exhaust pipe, the rattle will usually be apparent.

I am wondering though, when you say "rattle", is it a high-pitched metallic rattle (such as with a heat shield - metal on metal) or a mid-to-low pitched sound (such as with a worn control arm bushing - metal on rubber on metal)?
