...and I hate the feature. When I was a mod I'd give myself -2,236,739 point of karma so no one could tell (unless they were paying VERY close attention, which no one would) whether my karma value was going up or down, lolby Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Board suggestions

I installed one (well, actually Maurice did, thank you very much Maurice!) in my '09S and the alarm "chirps" are a major benefit (although my primary motivation was the one-touch top operation feature). Here's one place that sells it: I believe Eric from Bumperplugs also carries it.by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum

After saving the changes, it puts up a "Changes have been made. Click here to return to the forum", or something like that page. I would suggest skipping that page, and just returning to the forum immediately after the changes are saved, back to the edited message. Basically, as if they clicked on that link, but without requiring the extra step.by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Board suggestions
I had a section in my last post on the main board where I said: POE ("Purity of Essence " ) and it took the last 2 chars as the smilie I'd normally just indicate with ; ) (no spaces)by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Board suggestions
I think people who buy Porsches mostly understand the concept and value of "a drivers' car", and the message I get from his selection of the Cayman is simply that what's important to him personally is the POE (Purity of Essence) of the Porsche experience, and that can arguably be best realized with something like the Cayman R. It is to fix dumb little typos I was too lazy to notice before I hit "post". Once in a blue moon I'll also realize I should have added an extra sentence to clarify something, and if I realize that within about 30 seconds of my post, I may use the edit feature to add the sentence. But if it is more than a minute or two, I'll use "reply". Occasionally I'll miss a typo until perhaps an hour or twby Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Board suggestions
I can see that the darker of the two alternating backgrounds is now "less dark", which makes it easier to see those fonts superimposed on it. If I had control of the colors for myself I'd probably experiment further to find a foreground color for the text that yields yet more contrast (perhaps a brighter one), but this is certainly adequate. Thanks!by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Board suggestions

I had a kit that I used to considerable success on my '03S, Midnight Blue Metallic. Eventually, though, there was just so much road rash that I gave up trying to keep up with it all. On my new Box, I got the clear bra. Anyway, the best value is actually the most expensive option, because you end up running out of the "blending solution" before you run out of the touch-up paint otherwise. You have to upload your image to an image hosting site such as PhotoBucket (the one I use; it's free). Once your image is hosted on such a site, you place the URL for the image between "img" tags. The 12th button from the left in the composition window will insert the tags, you just paste the URL in when asked.by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Board suggestions
Yes, that's what I was saying...between the flag and the bold font I can see them clearly. My sole issue now is the generally low contrast of the current color scheme, it's hard on my eyes. It could be worse, and it could be better...by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Board suggestions
I think the time-out should be on the order of a day, but I don't make the decisionsby Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Board suggestions
Just realized there's a little red flag on the new messages...I think before I was looking at all old messages and thinking some subject lines were bolder than others, but that was probably an artifact of the font smoothing on my monitor. So, just the general contrast comment, scrap the "new messages" comment.by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Board suggestions
OK, let's see if it works right now. I'm posting this and then I'm going to add stuff below this line: ---------------------------- And right beneath my message, below the line, the first of 4 or 5 links was "Edit", I pressed it, and I'm editing ;-) Now I'm going to press the "Save Changes" button below, and presto.by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Board suggestions
I've having a bit of trouble with the contrast....while I can read it, it's eye-straining. For example, reading the user ID's with the darker of the alternating backgrounds is tough...also it is somewhat tough to make out when a message is in bold (new message). I didn't have any trouble with the scheme that was in use on the last board. Just FYI...it would be nice to see better-contrasting cby Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Board suggestions
After you've posted, view the message and there should be an "Edit" link down in the row of links below the message.by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Board suggestions

I hadn't even thought about it at the time, but the service guy at IRA Porsche is very good. I just asked him now, and he says they put it on the machine and everything was showing "in the green", so there wasn't any need for an alignment.by Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Main Forum
In the main board, I noticed that if I click on my "interesting designation..." thread, it does not open the thread; it just sits there. I thought it might be that I'd read the thread, but I can open OTHER threads repeatedly, just not mine for some reason. Also, each thread I click on opens in a new tab in Firefox; is there something on your end that is choosing to open a new tab/window rather tby Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Board suggestions
As a major proponent for the ability to edit a message after posting, I of course agree wholeheartedly. IMO about one day of leeway is the "right" amount. As I argued the last time we were debating this, this is not a financial forum where historical revision may be attempted for personal profit-based reasons. This is a social board, and being able to go back and correct embarrassing typos is IMOby Leor ('09S, North of Boston) - Board suggestions
First of all, here's Yet Another THANK YOU to Pedro and Stefan for creating Porsche Pedro's Boxster Board (even if you can't call it that...) I feel like a long, dark night of the soul is over now that we're back.
