Glad you and your new Boxster are back safe and sound. Great looking car- it appears to have the Sea Blue interior. Thanks for the write up.by jwdbox - Main Forum
Glad to see you and CURVEN8R out along with MsG Enjoy the renewed Permagrin!by jwdbox - Main Forum
Nice write up. Thanks for posting. Did you primarilly drive with the PDK in 'normal' mode or 'sport' mode? I found the sport mode to really demonstrate the PDK's strengths while the normal mode felt, to use your words, boring.by jwdbox - Main Forum
I just did some research on the same and it seems like Plasti Dip is favored across a number of car forums. It appears to be identical to Armour All's Custom Shield Coating protection product but a lot less expensive. I have not found anyone locally who has used any of these however. Plasti Dip has a number of videos out and it looks like it is very easy to apply and remove. It comes in clearby jwdbox - Main Forum
Op-ed is just that. GM indicated earlier that cars made in China will not be exported to the US.by jwdbox - Main Forum
QuoteMikenOH Interesting info; significant area of cargo space lost behind the seats in the Cayman on the 981. On the 981 Boxster the major loss of space seems to be in the rear trunk--bad if you're a golfer--despite the fact the published numbers seem the same. Regarding front and rear fender height, our 981S with SS is at roughly 27.5"F and 27.75" R--say 13mm in front and 20mm in the rear. Loweby jwdbox - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario Thanks for posting Guenter. Of course I am sure in most of our cases it is purely academic since we are not tempted to ever cruise in our cars over the speed limit...by jwdbox - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario Well, I've had the CURVEN8R out for a little over a week now. Because of all the rain and cold temperatures, I've only driven it on 3 days so far. Monday was the best drive - about 90 miles in 60 degree temps, top and windows down. I always remember how much fun it is to drive. But, after not driving it for 4 1/2 months, it seemed to feel better than every. Monday's driveby jwdbox - Main Forum
QuoteSan Rensho Don't spray it. Use a brush and goober it on. I don't understand why you would recommend that approach. I have used RaggTopp spray cans for more than 5 years with SilverBox and the application is very easy with no masking required. Any overspray easily wipes off of body and glass with a microfiber cloth. The spray nicely penetrates the top and lasts at least 6 or so months.by jwdbox - Main Forum
I have used RaggTopp since about 6 months after SilverBox was new (almost 6 years now) and never protected the glass or body from what little overspray occured. It always cleans up easily with no problem.by jwdbox - Main Forum
QuoteKevinR-MedinaOhio This topic leads me to the above question. I have a five year old Moll that came with the car. My load tester says the battery is putting out 11.2V. No problems so far, but am wondering is now is the time? My guess Kevin is that you are getting close. SilverBox got 5.5 years and then within a few days went from a slow turn over out of the blue to needing to be replaced.by jwdbox - Main Forum
Let me hazzard a guess- you have gotten CURVEN8R out of winter hibernation?by jwdbox - Main Forum
Thanks for posting l3m! Most enjoyable and informative. Always enjoy their show and especially Ed's amazing knowlege and skill.by jwdbox - Main Forum
QuoteLaz does anyone know of a female Porsche salesperson? A female auto salesperson anywhere? I bought SilverBox from a very capable salesperson, who happened to be a female , at Gaudin Porsche in Las Vegas.by jwdbox - Main Forum
Interesting Cris. We have it pretty hot here in Vegas as well. It was my understanding that the AGM handle the heat better (as well as vibration) than flooded batteries. I was going to go with an Optima in SilverBox since I have had great success with them in other vehicles, but the Optima would require a special mounting kit. That is why I went with the 94R which required no special mountingby jwdbox - Main Forum
Just completed the replacement of the OEM battery on SilverBox, a 2008 987. The OEM battery was about 5 1/2 years old and started showing dying signs this past weekend. If you have not done one on your Boxster you should know that the process is easy and straightforward. I selected an ACDelco 94R Profession Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) battery as the replacement. Here are the steps I took: 1. cby jwdbox - Main Forum
Quotechrismmm all very nice. I like the silver box as well..is it a 07? Thanks, SilverBox is a custom ordered 2008. As for advise on Fuchs for your 2007 I will defer to others on the board.by jwdbox - Main Forum
Actually it was not a criticism but rather a comment on art compared to engineering compared to good ol Mother Natureby jwdbox - Main Forum
Laz, it took me a second to see the 'art' which blended nicely with the tree!by jwdbox - Main Forum
Hay Laz, I don't name 'em, I merely show up in SilverBox and enjoyby jwdbox - Main Forum
We had a 'show and shine' at the Las Vegas Porsche dealer today in gorgeous weather. About 30 or so Porsches came including some beautiful original 356s, and of course several Boxsters. Here are a few pictures: Enjoy!by jwdbox - Main Forum
QuoteKevinR-MedinaOhio QuoteI think the Boxster got DFI in MY 2010. I am thinking that since the '09 got the 9A1 engine, it got DFI then, also. My recollection, which certainly could be wrong, was the base 987 did not get the DFI and 9A1 until 2010 while the 987S got both in 2009.by jwdbox - Main Forum
