Just looked this up and it is an altered photo. Checked it out with a few google searches.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
I read somewhere that this was not quite a realistic comparison. I think it was on the Cayman Facebook page.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
....well I got over $24 K of that money for my 2012 Jetta TDI.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Hey lot's of us old guys out there that don't fit this profile. Seventy five here and definitely not a left foot braker except of course for autocross.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
...I just got my formal offer of buyback from VW. I will get $24,000. for a five year old Jetta Sportwagon with 32K miles. I accepted. I replaced it with a 2017 Golf Alltrack.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
One way to resolve IMS issues. They did it to 914s with small block Chevys 25 years ago.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum

QuoteGary in SoFL Please Mike, don't let facts get in the way of an old curmudgeon's 'kvetch'. Well, they do look bigger and despite Gary's assertion that I don't deal in facts, according to GTPORSCHE magazine, a UK publication, the 981 is listed as 72mm longer, about 3" and an inch wider. If they are incorrect then I guess I am.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Ritchieng, welcome and glad you like your car. There are some old curmudgeons here that have a hard time with change. Porsche people have a hard time adapting. I'm old enough to remember when the new 911 was despised by the 356 guys. The water cooled cars received a cool reception and folks still haven't gotten over Porsche making SUVs and sedans despite the fact that they allow Porsche to continby dennisafrompa - Main Forum
I wasn't mentioning that fact from a geo-political standpoint. I'm 74 and realize we are all better off when we all have something to live for. Too bad the young men in the Middle East don't have that incentive.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Kelly blue book shows 11-12K trade in and 12-13K private sale. I've seen these cars with gas engines for much less and of course you really can't sell a diesel right now.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
I just got the buy back numbers for my 4 year old Jetta Sportwagon TDI. $16,950 for the car. $6,376 damages. $1000. good will package. $24,326 total. This for a car that new sold to me for $26,839 four years and 34,000 miles ago. I'm happy with the buyout program. I wish every car I had would cost me only $2,513 over 48 months or so. Thinking of an Audi Allroad or a Volvo V60 wagon. Any inputby dennisafrompa - Main Forum

Marc, it's always nice to try American Muscle. I did for 5 years and enjoyed it to a point. Happy to be back in P-cars though and enjoy the total package. I went the well used route to get back into the Cayman. One note, those muscle cars are big and the Dodge is even bigger than my Mustang Bullitt.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
My point is that except for the rear they are one and the same car, just as my Jetta wagon is essentially the same as the sedan. Hard to understand then those issues. By the way I've driven both the sedan and wagon. Now the XC is a much different car. So the horse is beat to deathby dennisafrompa - Main Forum
They seem to be talking XC 60 (semi-SUV) rather that V 60 which is what IDs the photo. Those are quite different vehicles.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
I've never been a big fan of what they think or report. But I didn't expect to see them contradict themselves on the same cars. Because of the VW buyback and damages payment we are looking for a new station wagon, BUT truly a wagon, not a crossover and certainly not an SUV. So I have few choices. We like the size of the Volvo V60 which is just the wagon version of the S60. Well the S60 is "recomby dennisafrompa - Main Forum
I had my Cayman serviced at an Indy yesterday. Transmission gear oil change, brake/clutch fluid flush and new front sway bar bushings installed......total $329. Went to bathroom at home!by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
yes, an awful decision by FOX sports. The final round of the US open didn't start until much later. So pre-empt a race finish so you can show a meaningless completion of the day before. But then again it's FOX........Another reason to hate golf.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Toyota built a car for 23 hours and 55 minutes the rules say 24 hours.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
Quotefrogster i don't know whether to be appalled or impressed. Don't be appalled, there are plenty of flawless restored queens in this world that the wealthy can blow their money on at auction and then not drive. Be happy. I was wondering why that guy look familiar.......Kato, funny.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
...the bushings where the sway bar mounts to the body. A little penetrating juice stopped the noise. I'll get fresh bushings.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
....I forgot to mention this is an '08 Cayman with 96K miles. Would the fact that it doesn't make the noise till it's warm, that is OAT and warm from friction point more to bushings than ball joints? I guess I should lube one or the other, one step at a time.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
....just checked on the car after sitting for a few hours in the garage. NO creaks, squeaks or groans. Any input appreciated.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
...about halfway through a road rally yesterday I started hearing a low pitch squeaking from the front suspension. The squeak can be heard when the front is rocked by hand. Also moving the steering wheel when stopped result in a groan throughout the movement. When the car is cool it is quite but after a few miles it's there. Ideas?by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
...without the wide model range our sport cars might have been history.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
...I don't think many folks did fixes on "possible" failures. When things broke, they were fixed. You can be chasing your tail. If you are influenced by reported failures on forums, we all need a water pump, shifter cables and an AOS in our trunks. Then some other component would go TU.by dennisafrompa - Main Forum
