$178.50 at my indie in March of last year for parts and labor. The part was replaced to see if it would stop the puff of smoke in turn 5 & 6 on the Summit Point track, so no cleaning of the intake system was done. If the dealer takes apart the intake bits and cleans, I'd expect a larger labor charge. Alas, wound up replacing with the motorsports version which is a bit more involved, but dby Dave In MD - Main Forum
I have a 2003 with the factory CD changer. MP3s written to a CD as a data file will definitely not play on the CDR 23. If you have a CD writing program that will write them as an "audio" CD, those will work.by Dave In MD - Main Forum
I still do the flash. Although I admit the responses are not as often as they used to be.by Dave In MD - Main Forum
who charged me $400 for the labor. Replacement for the standard suspension on a base 2003. Lowers the car a bit and the ride is stiffer but not harsh at all. Actually, the car had 60K miles and I think it actually rides better on the highway now. It's definitely better on the track (which is why I did it) with less lean and much less floating feel over rises. Coupled with a track alignmentby Dave In MD - Main Forum
of course it's going to rain. I was planning on making a run up in the morning. Hopefully I'll beat the rain, eat some bad for you food, not spend too much and head back home...by Dave In MD - Main Forum
If you want a discussion on network anonymity and computer forensics, we can do that over a beer at BRBS... But, I may have to change my handle to "anonymous".by Dave In MD - Main Forum
There are tools now to delete, modify and update data in the on board computer. Heck, Pedro even sells these. There has never been a system yet that can't be modified given motivation. Maybe there will be a new market here. Push button to save the previous 5 minutes else it is not retained...or plug in laptop to make the court evidence what you want. They'll just convert pricing in the states to liters. 1 liter = 0.264172052 US gallons. Most people will be confused for years and think it's cheap.by Dave In MD - Main Forum

QuoteKevinR-MedinaOhio I know of a girl who had a 12" yardstick tattooed on the inside of one of her legs just below her crotch, with the inscription, "THIS is 12-inches". Maybe we should call her in for a measurement. Where else could a post about a new Boxster model devolve into a discussion that includes the quote above!! Looking forward to seeing everyone at BRBS.by Dave In MD - Main Forum
Keeping the revs up impacts gas mileage significantly. Cruising down the highway in top gear with the engine running below 2500 RPM is the best gas mileage. Keeping the RPMs between 4500 and 6500 on the track with no coasting (either on gas or brake) gets me single digit MPG in my 03. Keep the car tuned, air filter, oil filter and oil changed. Put the top down, head to those N.C. hills and eby Dave In MD - Main Forum
You have to sign up for a google ID (if you don't already have one). Then under the Maps tab, select My Places, then Create a Map. After you've added points to the map, save it. There will be a link in the left side bar that says "KML". Pressing this will download the map to your computer. Save it as a .kml file. For Garmin, you'll need to convert the KML file to a GPX file to load as pointby Dave In MD - Main Forum
+1 on Garmin. Have had several over the years. Current is a 1490T. 5" with spoken street names. I use Google Maps and POI Factory to download maps to it. Everything from waypoints from Google Maps for trips, to service stations and red light/speed cameras from POI Factory. I also use the ProClip. Here's a couple of pictures from my setup (the Garmin is one I use in another car now...)by Dave In MD - Main Forum
I've never seen a Boxster or Cayman in this color... Taken at Summit Point raceway a few years ago.by Dave In MD - Main Forum
Ok folks, it's spring; time for pictures from this year; BRBS is less than 2 months away; forecast for Sunday is 80 and sunny. Top down and long drive is on my agenda. Got a call from the Switzerland Inn today and they upgraded our room reservation. Yea! Just need to get the car polished and ready for a vacation in the Mountains of North Carolina! Let's do this! So far this year the carby Dave In MD - Main Forum
Now, now, let's play nice. You missed one. PCA Boxster Register But who's counting. 15.by Dave In MD - Main Forum
swivel! Not sure if they do for adjustment, but somebody hit a switch and they turned completely in toward the window. They looked more aero that way. Doubt that's why they do it, (although the on the fender may be about areo) but the thought came to my mind that it would be handy for the track. and I posted the comment about the shifter just for Guenter! Really, I think it's fine. It not as high as it seems and is a nice distance from the wheel. The whole cabin feel is lower and maybe it's just me, seemed more 986 like than what always felt to me like the upright seats of the 987. Really personal preference I know. But, I think I'd rather have it as a replacement for my 986. Hereby Dave In MD - Main Forum
Porsche and PCA had the North America unveiling of the new Boxster this morning before the opening of the New York Auto Show. Got a few pictures uploaded and thought I'd put them up. We got to sit in it, open the frunk, trunk and play with the top. The key was in the ignition, there just wasn't a path to the street. It was a great event with the folks from Porsche doing the honors and descrby Dave In MD - Main Forum

There's a few folks still around!! Most check in from time to time. I was down on the Eastern Shore last week. Thought about the trips to Waterman's in Rock Hall. Had to settle for crab cakes at the Robert Morris Inn in Oxford. Such a struggle.by Dave In MD - Main Forum
First picture with a 991. Can a 981 picture be far behind?by Dave In MD - Main Forum
although I guess I should have looked for it. One of my alternate rides to the Boxster I picked up in November. It's a great car.by Dave In MD - Main Forum
we made a later run that day. Was there video in your car?by Dave In MD - Main Forum
a serta perfect sleeper that I've encountered. Well, except for the Lexus ES350 maybe. Perhaps they've fixed that with this new model. Or not. From Car and Driver: It’s still pretty boring to drive...by Dave In MD - Main Forum

will be there Friday afternoon for the Continental Tire Challenge race and then through the weekend. I'm not going to be in the Porsche, but will be in and out of the PCA tent. There's a grandstand next to it that's a decent place to watch the race.by Dave In MD - Main Forum
