Definitely a famous place for the BRBSers..by Dave In MD - Main Forum

wasn't the primary reason for the display lights based on the fact that people didn't look at their gauges? From the article: "The real problem is that the check-engine light is a tool for the propagation of consumer ignorance about their cars. That is why it needs to die. Now." My understanding was that they were "idiot" lights because most drivers were assessed as idiots already. What evidby Dave In MD - Main Forum
but I like it. lower, wider, faster. What's not to like? Looking forward to seeing it in person.by Dave In MD - Main Forum
The carpet was pulled off the console just to install the lighter and GPS holder in this picture. The cigarette lighter plug was wired to the 4 prong female behind the console and will take single crimp-on mini male plugs (don't recall exact name) that I found at the local electronics store. I did mine this way so I could use the switched connection so the GPS and other things powered by it arby Dave In MD - Main Forum
996 613 134 00 A02 for the garge switch. I just noticed this. I pulled the invoice from the purchase but got the numbers backwards. I ordered both - one for the garage door opener and one for the computer (normally 4th stalk) after it was activated. The previous number is for the footwell lighting switch..by Dave In MD - Main Forum

I'm not sure of the use of the circular hole in the dash, but there is a connector that you can use behind the console. It runs my radar detector and GPS (or my lap timer on the track) and can be wired as either always hot or switched. The connector is a 4 possition plug and it's behind the carpet section of the console. It just pops off. My lighter plug is connected to it with quick disconneby Dave In MD - Main Forum
seem to be more suseptable to puffs on the track than other years. There's a Porsche TSB for the 03 and 04 models on this. Hard braking into a hard left hander and then back on the gas heavy seems to be the perfect storm for them - especially on R compound tires. My first AOS failed on the track in a very complete way with a big trail of smoke. I'm on my third AOS at 60k miles, but the 2nd neby Dave In MD - Main Forum
if your AOS has failed and produced clouds of smoke, then you need to clean the oil out of the throttle body and the intake paths. If not, then it's not necessary. You'll find the 03 and 04 are a bit different from the instructions with some minor changes to the plumbing. It's still a pretty easy DIY.by Dave In MD - Main Forum

to the windshield on my Boxster over the last few years. Both came from construction zones on the interstates in the Baltimore - Washington area. The insurance company's web site had a way to setup the payment and make the appointment with them. I took the car to their shop on a Saturday and watched them do it. Took about 45 minutes. Still got the image posted online. We definitely need another trip down the back roads of the Eastern Shore.by Dave In MD - Main Forum
always a car guy! Great to see the Dennis crew is still around. We're always up for a Waterman's run when the crab are in season. Even with a couple of Fords... May the joys of the season be yours in peace on earth.by Dave In MD - Main Forum
Have a holder and a Garmin Nuvi in my Boxster. Agree with others here that the GPS units from that age are no comparison to the modern units. I now have the second Garmin on this holder. It can be plugged into my computer with routes and points of interest downloaded and map updates applied. I also download red light and speed camera locations and the GPS warns when approaching them. Only thing I saw burning at Sebring was hamburgers on the grills in the zoo areas and the Ferrari. Sebring2010by Dave In MD - Main Forum
Did Petit Lemans last year. It's nice from a venue standpoint as the hills provide good spectator spots for watching the race. Porsche corral: Porsche 911 hybrid:by Dave In MD - Main Forum
My wife and I went to the 12hour race two years ago. Agree with Pedro that it IS a zoo, but we had a good time. It's something I can now say I've done... I'd like to go this year, but not sure yet. Hotels close to the track fill up a year in advance. We stayed in Okeechobee as the closest place with a vacancy although we had a friend who got a room a week before from a cancellation in the tby Dave In MD - Main Forum
New and bigger throttle body, shorter and improved intake plenum, ECU update. Only have 2 questions: dyno results and do you throw in a beautiful PB hat (nice hat)!by Dave In MD - Main Forum

Great shots and video! And good advice. We also bought the full ticket package. I was surprised I didn't see myself in any of the shots... Especially the one of the Boxster. I stood and talked to the driver for a long time. Had a great discussion on the proper path through the roller coaster (turns 14-15) for a Boxster at VIR. Keep this up and I'll change my plans and see you there!by Dave In MD - Main Forum
We were there last year. We stayed after the start until it got dark then got dinner and back to the hotel for sleep. Back at the track in the morning. Spent some of the time around the pits and the paddock areas. Spent some of the time in the stands. But actually one of the best areas was around the infield. The Porscheplatz has a good location to watch from. There's also an area in theby Dave In MD - Main Forum
I swap to track pads for DE. As Pedro says, they don't have holes for the sensor which doesn't matter since they get checked every day of use. As you get faster, the track pads have less fade so you can brake later. I just use a small wire tie to hold the sensor back out of the way while the track pads are on. I put them back in the street pads to keep the brakes stock for street use. Tiresby Dave In MD - Main Forum
all great shots Frissen. If Pedro can't make it down, maybe you should join us next year for a track day! Definitely more than 2 Boxsters there.by Dave In MD - Main Forum
The original software was WebBBS version 5.x. The web site that hosed it no longer exists. The original source code was picked up by tetrabb.com who still publishes a version of forum software. You can see the old software at the old PPBB site:by Dave In MD - Main Forum

We will rebuild! Lots of 50/60 MPH wind and 5 or so inches of rain. I have two trees that fell by the creek in the back of the yard. Should make some good firewood. Some flooding in the usual low lying areas but not as bad as some previous storms. No damage to house or cars. Power was out a few times but only for a minute or so. As Pedro said, we dodged a bullet.by Dave In MD - Main Forum
