i had a "sound symposer" on my MY2000 S; it was called a snorkelectomy at the time. the sound that came out of the left side vent was intoxicating. everyone loved it.by frogster - Main Forum
QuoteRyan_K Many years ago, I knew a guy who worked in paint group of the Subaru plant in Lafayette, IN. He said it was common for cars to get dinged / scratched in the lot after they came off the line and before they got loaded onto transport (or as they were being loaded). Those cars were brought back in and reworked. I think we as owners have dreams of our cars being perfect little angels wby frogster - Main Forum
QuoteRoger987 Almost gives you goose-bumps, doesn't it. no. not almost. total goosebumps. wow. THAT was music. not like today's groups that do gymnastics on stage and nobody's playing an instrument. or rap. ok, i'm a moldy fig.by frogster - Main Forum
"The dealers told Veldhuijzen that the car actually sustained minimal damage (another big rear-engine advantage, people: much better recovery from rolling forwards into a lake) and the car will be prepared for delivery." ouch! if that were my car there's no way i would accept it. i wonder if the owner will even know about this. i'm guessing that with social media et al that he will but sheesh!!!by frogster - Main Forum
yes, this is exactly the problem; very hot components right by the gas filler. the person i know who has one said that the dealer recommended driving to the gas station on electric power only so the gas engine doesn't get hot.by frogster - Main Forum
Hi Bruce! yeah, i pop my head in here every once in a while to see what's going on and keep in touch with the old gang. I lived in switzerland for nearly 30 years. moved to vancouver in 2009. i wanted to bring my boxster over here but the canadian government in all of their wisdom doesn't allow it. i see rust buckets driving sideways spewing oily smoke but i couldn't bring my perfect boxster hereby frogster - Main Forum
simply put, the author of that article is an idiot and doesn't have a clue about what he saying. reminds me of that woman who reviewed the boxster years ago and talked about the engine being forward of the driver. morons.by frogster - Main Forum
you guys are goooooood! i got a paltry 71% i guess i'm too young, heh heh hehby frogster - Main Forum
how 'bout this one? i have a friend in geneva who has one just like this. i have driven it many times. getting in and out is a pain. and it's not exactly high performance.by frogster - Main Forum
nothing new but thought i'd post them anyway. they aren't mine, they're from a swiss car website.by frogster - Main Forum
wow, '98. pre-historic! and prices in DM rather than EUR.by frogster - Main Forum
it's really nice to see so many of the "old gang" still hanging around. I remember so many of you. I think i've seen joanne in OC on here as well as tony in whittier.by frogster - Main Forum
GUILTY!!! so i guess what i need is a 917 with a 981 engine! i must admit that the 981 grew on me a bit over the years. it never gave me that "wow" feeling that the boxster concept did 20+ years ago but I do like the styling of the 917 very much. i know it's basically the same as the 981 but the little changes make me like it a lot more.by frogster - Main Forum
i just don't get excited by the sound of the new boxster. i think it's a sharp looking car but i'm not sure i would buy one. the thought, and sound, of a four cylinder sitting just behind me does not excite me. i remember one of the things that i liked best about my 2000 986S was the intake sound after I de-snorkled it. oh was it ever sweet. i can't imagine you could get anything like that out oby frogster - Main Forum
i find it amazing that there are still some people coming back to this board so many years on. Even people from the ppbb days. nice to see!by frogster - Main Forum
am i the only one who had to look up "mellifluous?" interesting that the general opinion here is pretty much the same (for once). i have the feeling that as i get older, i'm not of the demographic that is being targeted. a moldy fig if you will. granted, i bought my boxster nearly 16 years ago but what i loved so much about it was its purity and simplicity. no extraneous styling. form followsby frogster - Main Forum
QuoteJackintheBoxster that they have moved the ignition key from the left to the right side of the steering wheel. I think this will kill this car as a serious contender on the track because we won't be able to shift and turn the car on at the same time. i panicked when i read this and thought that porsche had really stooped to a low level of pandering but it still looks like the key is on theby frogster - Main Forum
listen to the exhaust sound clip. i noticed a faint resemblance to another well known car with a flat-four. this is not a compliment either.by frogster - Main Forum
i saw another article with the same photos and a bit of writing here: you can view the same photos and videos from the press release without having to download them. overall i think the car looks good except for the black area under the rear spoiler where "PORSCHE" is written in big, bold, shiny letters. a bit pretentious for my taste. does anyone know if that spoiler is fixed? i'm guessby frogster - Main Forum
i don't remember if i posted those but i do remember walking by the car. versoix is just outside geneva, up the lake a few km. we left geneva in '09 and it was many many years before that. i'm thinking early 2000's and it was an MG F as pedro states. i remember that winter very well. that was an amazing blast of cold air from siberia IIRC. i did a bit of searching and it turns out to have beby frogster - Main Forum

there's an announcement on the PCA website that says that Porsche will introduce a Clubsport version of the Cayman GT4 and, sorry G-man, it'll have PDK!!! It will be presented in november at the LA auto show. Not having PDK on the GT4 was a bummer but alas, the clubsport version will not be street legal. I can't wait to see what kind of lap-time that thing will do on the 'ring. i bet it will be aby frogster - Main Forum

QuoteGuenter in Ontario Your car is over a decade old and still looks thoroughly modern. and the "design" is effectively two decades old and it still looks great. I do think that the 986 will be a timeless classic.by frogster - Main Forum
I ran across a design website yesterday and there are a few articles about Porsche. One is about the all electric four-door sedan, the "Mission E concept" that was presented in Frankfurt recently. Ather is an article about a new sculpture at the Porsche Museum with flying 911s!
